What did you do in your modeling workshop today?

Is he driving the van?

Depending how he turns out, he could become a covered sculpture in the back. :joy:

I had been using a couple of cheapie LED goose neck desk lamps but they were awkward and always in the way, especially when I needed to turn the exhaust fan on or off or when I needed to slide the door shut on the exhaust vent.

@Arch-Stanton Al, thank you. Yes that’s the food dehydrator I’m using on the models.

It’s big enough for a Leopard 1. It’s a bit small but most WW2 AFV’s will fit. I doubt a Leopard 2 will fit and am almost certain a Leo 2A6’s turret with barrel won’t fit.

It’s very handy in my experience. Ten hours at 104 seems to do wonders for pushing th paint cure forward without harm. It cab be set for 1 to 10 hours. Temperature will go asxhigh as ~155 F, I use 104F which has worked great so for without harming resin parts, 3D printed or plastic etc temp adjust upward in steps of ~10 degrees F or so.

A few days later…

The a little darker Grey parts are from the Dragon/Das Werk Bridgelayer. I noticed, that newland copied them, mostly… So better quality, easyier to glue, plastic is mostly better than resin… And on newland model, all zylinders have to be drilled open… Well understanding Dragon instructions are nearly as difficult as newlands, show it all on ready build models, instruction. Missing things included to both styles…

Tomorrow, hopefully my long missed putty will arrive and I could start glueing it together

Finally got some bench time and the wargame bug has hit again. Finished the build on the ranged dreadnought that I started at a show a few weeks ago, then built its close combat heavy assault dreadnought partner.

Deredeo.

Leviathan.

Next it’s primer time.

Hi guys,
The Lambro 550 got some rattle-can primer today.
You gotta’ be kidding me. … That’s all the parts? I think that’s all the parts. I hope that’s all the parts. :mag:

A little progress with the M9. Operator’s roof and rear deck components in place, smoke projectors in place. Started weathering the rear floor plates.

Loving this build!

Interesting. I’ve got a Das Werk/Dragon Bundeswehr M48 bridge layer I’m gonna get to one of these days- I’ve dug through the box several times ruminating on building it…. The DW parts for the primary cylinder parts you’re using look pretty nice on your build.

I’ve done a couple Dragon M60 AVLBs and an M48. Not anxious to start another, even with the Das Werk parts.

Speaking of bridges-

Touching up camouflage here- and getting ready to camo the 14 meter bridge sections.

Edited to add:

Because I’m a glutton for engineering vehicle punishment, I’ve also got one of these dumb things.

I really want to get my hands on the M60 AVLB but I haven’t seen one in the wild yet. I’m a sucker for the engineer equipment i spent 10 yrs in 4th EN BN on Carson.

Not much there of late worth taking photos of. It certainly isn’t as busy as it was ten years ago.

It was when I was there, I heard they are going Stryker now and have become part of 4th ID

I photographed some of the Stykers there but even those are blase given I now have access to the DVH A1’s. Even the Rangers at Fort Benning (Moore) are getting in on the act.

After the models of the Katangese rebels, I now worked on the Swedish participants in the UN troops in Congo in the early 1960s. These were largely the same vehicles, captured from those rebels and found on dumps. These vehicles were all given a name, most ending in Belle. One of the M3s was Olga Belle…

Started with a Zelda M3, added rear doors, adjusted the interior and added a trailer…

One of the M8s was called Anna Belle, another one was equipped with a double Swedish M36 machine gun…

so I tried to copy that.

Bought a set of decals for this project

and sprayed everything in the base color.

Moving closer to paint.

Haven’t decided on the color for the truck wood slats, need to do that soon. Anyone have any thoughts? I am thinking a custom blue or green body color if that helps.
