About a week ago I posted the fuel tank for this getting cut down, and now it’s installed. As I’m not using the original frame, I had to make a new one, but despite it being in 1/48 scale, this is pretty heavy, so I made up the core of the frame using sheet aluminum, which is relatively rigid (compared to styrene). There are two alu parts - the lower section that has bolsters pounded in, and an upper section that is flat. I used six small diameter set screws to ties these sheets together, then drilled another 8 bolts through to hold the weight of fuel tank and to attach the upper sheet of .060” styrene to, which will serve as the deck and body mount.
While you can buy some pretty nice O locomotives, they are way too expensive for a dio, so I purchased a less expensive version of a GP38-2, that is a bit soft on detail, so I’ve been reworking it. This will be used in a dio, that I’m about to open a thread for in the railroad section. This is where it sits right now:
I was given a Silver from the Novi Sad Model Club(Serbia), but I’m not aware for which model.
And the combined project “Bulgarian T-55AM Kladivo”- a birthday gift for the owner of a LHS, where I was responsible for building the turret- also scored a Silver in 1/35th Tracked Vehicles category.
Hello Angel Congratulations on your success. I think you’ll continue with this model-building series and, as always, I’m looking forward to new models from you. Best regards, Joachim
Finished the M916 LET as part of an entry for the “Let’s get hiched” campaign. Just needs a matt coat on the 5th wheel and the brake and electrical lines.
This is the Criel.Model kit(resin) with some corrections and additions.
It will build into a Bulgarian WWII tractor- one of the 20 vehicles, delivered in 1941- towing either an 8.8 cm Flak 18(AFV Club), or the 150 cm Flak SW-36(DES Kit/resin), or the generator for the Flak SW(also resin from DES Kit).
The kit will undergo some surgery on the loadbed to match the (long gone) vehicle from NMMH-Sofia
