A quick break from 1/35 AFVs and 1/48 aircraft…
Building this very small IBG 1/72 Type 94. Just planning the paint stage, as in this scale, it will be a small challenge!
And a shot next to the scalpel, for relative size comparison

I read an AK(?) guide on watercolor pencils for weathering and details, and they suggested white pencils for chalk markings. Is this a similar technique?
“What color is your Bugatti?”
“Blue.”
“I don’t see it.”
“Just look up.”
@RougePilot, I haven’t read any of the AK materials so am unsure.
This was an easy technique, sharpen the pencil so it can mark through a photo-etch stencil that’s taped in place on the model. I made the cross marking that way. Trace back over each leg of the cross four or five times through the stencil. Had to resharpen the pencil a time or two.
For the numbers placed a line of Tamiya tape top and bottom to set guidelines. Measured to make sure the open area between the strips of tape for the numbers was consistently 5mm. Used a temple to lightly sketch the the 1 in the middle and then free handed it. Likewise with the 4’s. Discovered making a “1” and making a “4” are similar.
My first two attempts at “416” was a disaster but the light trace of water color pencil washed off with water. That’s how the tank ended up “414”

Need to practice my “6” tracing skills.
Did you use regular colored pencils? The technique of watercolor pencils from AK feels like it would stick a bit better because of a slightly more oily consistency.
I had color pencils from Hobby Lobby…not sure if they are the same or not.
The AK’s might do better with the oil.
I think that they say any watercolor pencils will do. If your pencils do the job with your technique, though, it might be worthwhile developing it!
Back to the Base-ics today…
Went hog wild deciding to finish ~16 total.
Kali kat didn’t much like this since she isn’t allowed in the garage.
Sand, Pre-stain, stain & gloss etc.
Miscalculated slightly and didn’t quite have room for #15 so it ended the odd one out.
I remember last year I was sitting in a tram and look into an ammo of mig catalog. An old guy had seen it and said: " I build models since the 1960’s without all this stuff, it’s just a waste of money. You can get the same result with some brushes, some colours and some oils and some practice ". He invited me to his home to watch his models and I must say, he was right
Look for cheap electric mini drills.

This really came out great. I love IJA subjects and you have certainly done this one justice. The tracks look just right. Your chipping and weathering are subtle and effective. Excellent job!
Cool little vehicle . Yes , the chipping on the roof frame is very nice.
