Nice! I really need to add a F-18 at some point
Revell Germany is co-operating with ICM for a few years already, not only in the aircraft sector but also with armor. Have quite a few reboxed ICM stuff in my stash.
I received this on Friday I think. I hope it works out alright for me. I find I need to have something to hold the planes while Iām painting them and hope this helps. Iām pretty sure the instructions were composed by the same folks who do the instructions for Dragon armor kits.
Whatās the brand? I might order one of these, I find my self always making a jig for different planes this would be perfect
Vertigo is the brand. I bought it from UMM-USA.
I hope it lives up to my expectations - weāll see.
@Mead93 , check out the Masterpiece Models āBench Mateā jigs. Iāve got both sizes, they are great.
Cheers, D
Plus 1 on the Benchmate - very nice product.
@Littorio & @Grandtoad, those are a good batch of new arrivals! All sorts of goodies there for you too lucky dogs!
Hooray for the USPS and EBay! Over the weekend, this nice set of white metal 1/48 M-60D machine guns by Cutting Edge arrived
and then yesterday this beautiful Zvezda 1/48 Il-2 arrived. Itās a replacement for a kit destroyed by my daughterās cat a few years back. I was looking to get another Accurate Miniatures kit, but after seeing this kit online and looking at reviews⦠well Zvezda won. And after looking at this kit once it arrived, WOW!
Some things to go on my twin engine fighter build:
just need the kit for it.
And I picked up this thinking it would be a nice thing to practice doing olive drab on. As I looked into it some more I decided those sand and azure north africa planes looked pretty cool. And seeing the Dirty Dora thread started it made me look at PE for the interior and I have a feeling this is going to get out of control.
Hi again
A nice bundle of goodies arrived from Hannants:
Iāve been keen to take a look at Gas Patchās new Me 163B and I thought it would be worth getting the accessories too in order to review the lot. Iāve still got some samples to cover first, so this purchase will have to wait its turn, but I hope to review it before too long.
All the best
Rowan
Hi mates,
yesterday I picked these beauties up from my post office (in Germany you canāt evade customs anymore if you get something from outside the EU, you pay the fee at your local post office).
But even then, the price for this āOldieā and the āYoungsterā was more than ok!

Was near my local hobby shop today so I dropped in to see what was new. Picked a good day, they just got a lot of accurate miniatures kits in. I have their Okinawa TBM-3 in the stash which is set up as more of a ground attack aircraft with bombs and rockets.
So when I saw another AM TBM I grabbed it. This is one of my favourite aircraft id all time and the AM kits look outstanding, debating going back and grabbing their TBF-1C at some point.
From Sprue Bros., Special Hobby 1/72 Armstrong Whitworth Meteor NF.11.
I hope to convert this to an Israeli NF Mk13 by adding two small intakes (for air conditioning) under the front cockpit.
Update:
Actually, the kit has the parts for making an NF. Mk.13 (marked on the sprue). So someday, there will be such a release.
@Mead93 & @Gary_Kato, you guys picked up some fine kits there!
As for myself, over the past week or so, the mailman has brought me goodies for my 1/48 wingy thingiesā¦
first up, some decals for that FJ-2 Fury I picked up last month. I like the VMF-235 markings
then I picked up a good deal on this Eduard PE set for the Revell Foxbat in my stash⦠there are actually four frets of PE in the package, and they fix many of the kits external shortfalls
Then I made a couple of Mig kit scoresā¦
This one will need some help, but Iāve seen it built up nicely online, so it can be done
and then this oneā¦
Now I just need my building muse to returnā¦
I canāt say Iām glad Iām not alone⦠I hope you find your muse soon. I certainly need to find mine. I think the company I started working for in July kidnapped herā¦
I know only too well how ephemeral the modeling muse can be. Iām also in a slump. I find myself taking a kit out, staring at it, and putting it back.
Of course, there is no connection between that and my buying muse!
Yep - found the mojo dying towards the end of the Lysander build . I had a couple of quickie things going as ā just for laughs ā gifts to finish . When my bench was clear I took a few day off from modeling and then dug out a motorcycle kit from the depths of the stash that I had started 35 years ago . After turning out 1/48 aircraft for years this change of pace re lit the fire . Sometimes thatās all it takes .
