This showed up in my mailbox today.
Werners Wings decals and resin for the OH-58D. I was hoping someone would release decals for the OH-58D, since the Firebird Modelworks are long OOP.
Props to Floyd and Mason!

Hi again

It was really great to meet up with Andy and Luciano the other day on the Isle of Wight, while Andy’s better half put up with us talking models and a visit to Upstairs Downstairs in Sandown!: https://www.trainshop.co.uk/

Needless to say, I couldn’t come away from Max’s empty-handed!:

And an extra bonus was that Andy brought along the latest samples from Eduard - their new Sopwith Camel (with a bunch of accessories inside the box):

I’ll get cracking on reviews soon.

All the best

Really nice shop. We stayed in Sandown when we were on holiday there a few years back and had to go in. Walked out with quite a few Eduard kits. Very nice staff.

Hi Stephen

Yes - it’s a great little old-school real model shop, something that’s sadly becoming harder to find these days. Anyone visiting the Isle of Wight should definitely pay Max a visit!

Plus, of course, check out Oxfam Books & Music in Newport - there’s always a good chance you’ll find me there.

All the best

If we’re back over I’ll keep it in mind. I don’t recall us going to Newport at the time. Remember going to Ventnor and Ryde, but it was about 6 years ago.

Matchbox Dornier Skyservant arrived safely, but less than impressed with the ‘packaging’. A lesson in how not to pack vintage kits.

Luckily, besides some minor squashing at one end of the box and a loose prop, everything is intact. Even the tube of glue!

Think I’ll enjoy doing this. It’s a bizarre looking thing.

Hi Stephen

That’s pretty hopeless for packaging! It might be worth letting whoever sent it that, if you were a kit collector, you’d be requesting a refund. It could save the seller a lot of grief down the line…

Yeah I was thinking about that.
I’m not that fussed, I’m more concerned about the plastic. I know a few Matchbox collectors on a Facebook group who would not have been happy with how it arrived!

It’s a strange choice of colours for the plastic though. That red-brown sprue is almost translucent in places!

Goodies… goodies… and more goodies! You guys are getting some great scores!

Got these in the mail yesterday and I’ll be trying them out. Dress up some kit seats instead of replacing them with resin seats or PE… for a UK F-4 Phantom, Tornado, and ACES II seats
