Good on ya! Well done!
Thanks for pushing me over the edge! I took a peek inside and it looks fantastic!
I canāt believe how wide the p-47 cowl/fuselage is
Out of curiosity anyone know a good base color? I have AK real colors USAAF dark olive drab 41, think it might be a good match
Some stuff from Ammo for an incoming project (I have 2 before this)
It will be my first try at Red Fox and Reskit items. But I think that the Red Fox cockpit will worth it
I donāt like you any more HA HA.
You tube āRed Foxā HA HA
Got this to detail up a Revell Hawker Hunter in my stash when I get to that build.
Not used Flightpath aftermarket before. There is a lot of PE in this set!!!
Not from the postman, but a find in the local charity shop.
Not one of the best Phantom kits, but I remember it building into a reasonable replica of an early version last time I built it (that opinion may change as I know a heck of a lot more than I did then!). And it was for a good cause. Will probably build it in the VF-74 markings in a flight display
The Brassin bit is for my P-38F build. It has the right radio for the European Theatre -Fs. I donāt know whether Iāll actually try to use the Brassin bits or use them as a template for scratching my own.
I plan to build the two 109s as two different planes in JG27, one Marseillesā and the other some unknown probably (yellow 4?).
Iām looking forward to the Special Hobby Kittyhawk too.
Got a box of ICMās new US weapons to give an A-1E some much needed firepower.
Quite a nice set. Good details and sharp moulding with little flash. Unfortunately, itās a bit light on quantity, only having two of each. The BLU-23 and 27 can be finished with or without the fins which I thought was a nice touch that adds some variety.
Not sure what they give you to hang off the MER. Some sort of flare or smoke marker maybe?
Nice Revell 1/72 PB4Y 1 Patrol bomber. This very kit was my very first model that my dad helped me to build back in the early eighties!
A Kittyhawk and a Marseille 109 - that suits very well ā¦
After hesitating between heller A380 and 747, I decided to go for the 747, iāts rarer than the a380, the reedition isnāt out yet, I want to do more than one in multiple air france liveries and it was half the price of the reedition (20⬠on le bon coin vs 40 for the reedition)
Good catch, Phil! You canāt go wrong with Eduard. Nice to see that they start a similar project with the Hurricane in 72 as they do with the Spitfire in 48. I have already ordered my 3rd Limited DualCombo of itā¦
Btw., Iāve built LE-A out of the Airfix kit with aftermarket decals a few years ago.
Ooooowwwā¦nice. I have it, too. Plan to built it OOB or gussy it up with lots of goodies? Have you started it over the past year?
Have you seen this?
Arriving today, Italeriās French Jaguar A.
Has some nice options for aircraft involved in Operation Dageut. I do like the desert cammo they were painted in.
Being more familiar with the RAF boxing, I wasnāt sure what to expect in the box. Just the one sprue thatās different with all the parts needed to make a French version.
A nice selection of ordnance is included. ECM pods, Matra Magic, AS30L, laser designator pod (Atlis?) and a pair of square box Thomson-Brandt 100mm rocket pods. I donāt think I have ever seen these kitted before and very cool they look to me.
Should make for a good side by side build of the RAF Jag.
@JPTRR, no, I havenāt started my Gotha yet. Iām sure that it will be some time before I do tackle it. I need some more biplane experience under my belt first. No plans for much AM stuff, but that is always subject to changeā¦
@phantom_phanatic, well you can never go wrong with a Jaguar. Such a sharp looking aircraft! Too bad itās 1/72ā¦
A 1/48 would be nice, just never been able to find one!
Completely agree with you though. Itās a very cool looking aircraft and very capable as both the Gulf and Yugoslavian wars proved. Always felt it was retired too soon. And itās the only combat jet Iāve ever had the chance to sit in (ground instructional airframe), so always felt a bit of a connection with it.
Should be a fun build.
@phantom_phanatic
Stephen, Airfix / Heller (same base kit but with different nose and weapons) did the Jag in 1/48 as did Kittyhawk. Be aware the Kittyhawk GR.1 kit has the wrong weapons to build a RAF jet and if you want to build it all closed up the panels donāt fit without a lot of trimming.
The Airfix / Heller kit can be found on auction sites and some online shops that specialise in older / second hand kits. These are still nice kits that with a little bit of AM pop, resin bang seat, pe cockpit (I use the old Airwaves sets available from Hannants) detail, wheels and optional weapons.
I have two of the Airfix GR.1s and a Heller French Jag A as well as several Kittyhawk Jags, Hay I canāt help it Iām a Jag junkie. I also have a squadrons worth of 1/72 Jags from different companies and AM galore plus a piece (Wing Fence) of a real Jag XZ367 āDebbie / White Roseā from the Gulf War.
Me in a Jag
