What the postman brought today (AeroScale)

This oldie was waiting for me when I got home from work. Always fancied the Airfix Kamov and it’s unlikely they’ll release it, so thought what the heck let’s get one.

Decals have seen better days, but I’ve found a replacement set shopping around online.

Continuing down the Mirage rabbit hole I picked up the Kinetic Mirage 2000 from under a table at a show the other week, Quinta 3D cockpit and harnesses included along with Master brass pitot tube. Couldn’t knock it back for £30.

Then back to my normal aircraft scale of 1/72 we have some Mirage reinforcements via the postman direct from Modelsvit!

I don’t know if you will ever get out of that whole cause you are psychologically impaired. It’s a Mirage. It’s not real…

Nice haul. I need to grab some of those Duke Hawkins books myself and a copy of C-130 from War paint series.

Early this week i had couple off bad boy knock at my door and things almost went sideways but this brother had to maneuver swiftly and methodically down the hallway and into the closet. When dust was settled an inquiry was made “who was it?” “Oh, nothing…no one.” “What these old kits? I just moved them from the storage.”

Something to dress up my skids campaign plane as Minicraft doesn’t give you anything in the cockpit. These will be close enough for my needs.

Ooooh! They even come with a flight check list! … Hell, with that, even I can fly a darn floatplane! Landing on water… how hard can that be?

Those are good decals to have and they have a lot of cool PE stuff to dress up the cockpit as well. I bought a boat load couple years back on Black Friday or Christmas sales he did. Even had a free gift since the boat had some room

Hey Stryker your gonna enjoy building the Tamiya Corsair , it’s very detailed and the fit of the parts is flawless .
The Engine and Cockpit are models themselves the details of these 2 parts is just amazing . Very time consuming but the end product is worth it .
I’m building this kit myself as a dedicated build to Navy Pilot Jesse Brown .

Hey Quint, I have read many positive comments about the Tamiya kits but then again I am not surprised. Most of their 1/32 subjects are top notch.

I wish I could say the same about the Trump -4 but then again they are the only one that did -4 and I don’t think anyone else will touch it anytime soon. So, I got a good deal on it as well and I really want to have a Blue/Gray F4U-4 from Olathe Naval Reserve Unit in my collection. Cutting Edge decals did the marking of one of those aircrafts…

1/48 and 1/32 are the same with no good -4 from the usual players that make other good Corsair versions.

FLAPS DOWN…

eduard (72 384) A6M5c Zero Landing Flaps for Hasegawa kit

Nope. Flaps back up again… Unfortunately, this isn’t suitable for the plane I’m building. Oh well, I knew it was a gamble, but gave it a shot anyway. :slot_machine:

Phil, that’s a great book. I have several of his books. If you are thinking about the Tomcat then there is no other book that can match the amount of detail photography then Daco F-14. I need to grab his English Lightning copy. I only wished they were hardcover. In my opinion they last long and I don’t mind paying extra for quality and durability.

Btw, did you say Vietnam? Make it loud!!

Indeed. I’ve seen the opera live where it comes from and it always gives me goose bumps. The 1st time I saw it the woman who sang the lead part was able to sing over the orchestra easily and I didn’t really think the conductor was holding them back…

Trying to cut back on getting new kits and focus on aftermarket bits for existing kits.
