What the postman brought today (AeroScale)

While I don’t mind that SS sheet, as I have that one, depending on the squadron you want to build, this might be a better sheet to get, imho.

That’s a nice sheet, one I’ve been looking at in the past. I might pick it up at some point. Thanks.
This sheet perked my interest as has the VMCJ-1 EA-6A. I want to do it with a jammer Skyknight from the same unit to show the transition from the old to new. According to Ospreys book on the Skyknight, they did operate both together for a while. At least until the bugs had been worked out of the EA-6. I’ve had Italeri’s kit for a while, but the supplied decals are post-Vietnam.

I get that, there is only a few options for 1/72 VMJC decals and that sheet might be the easiest to get.
There is this sheet for the Drut. TD7218 (V7208) USN/USMC F3D-2 Skynight TD7208 (V7208) USN/USMC F3D-2 Skynight [1:72nd scale] - $6.50 : JAYS Hobby Products, New Zealand

The other A-6 decal options are Wolfpak (rip) had two sheets and CtA (never heard of them before) out of Russia.

Thanks. I’ve already got Printscales sheet for the EF-10B. Has the set for the VMCJ-1 aircraft operating out of Danang. I’ve managed to source an early ECM pod they used from a Trumpeter F-100. Only thing I need is a chaff pod, but I can make that from a drop tank in my spares.
Thanks anyway, I’ll keep that bookmarked as I have got a couple more Skyknights in the stash and it’s always good to know what else is available.

Nice!

Bought this second hand from eBay on a whim. A Mil-2 features briefly in that book I’m reading and I wondered if I could get a model of one. It’s a surprisingly nice little model.

Hobbyboss do several Hoplites (all in Polish colours), this one is lugging a 23mm cannon and machine guns. I might look at getting their anti-tank variant with wire-guided missiles at a later date.

It is and looks the part. Rivet counters have a different option if that matters. Also not many other options either.

Was able to get a 1/48 Tamiya Skyray and 1/32 KH F-5E for great deals.

That let to some aftermarket items being needed.

No there aren’t. I saw an Smer kit, but I suppose that’s an old KP kit?
There probably are a few faults (what kits don’t?), but it looks like what it’s supposed to be to me. I don’t see any problems coming up with it. I’ll probably make a start on it over the next few weeks so I’ll create a build log.

Look forward to it. I have a stalled build, more builder than kit issue.

I got WW2 and ukrainian stuff today with decals for a heller bloch 152 from the 60’ and paints and a white marker from AK:

Just got some my pop rivets today for the 1/10 scale Blue Thunder build. Yup..I’m planning on using them. And yes, I’m probably crazy.

With the sad news that Fantasy Printshop of Cornwall will soon be closing their doors, I’ve had a bit of a spending splurge on some sheets I’ve had my eye on. A case of buy now or regret later.

So, landing yesterday and today are a set of Malta based Spitfires. Mix of Vb’s and c’s. And some Luftwaffe Staffeln and Gruppe markings that I thought might come in useful. Got a few more on the way.

After I watched Black Hawk Down (the 4K bluray is superb) again, I had to order the copter… (amongst it many Ginter secondhand books have arrived).

Instrument decals arrived. With the exhaust and masks here as well, should be ready to start on the Hypersonic Models NF-104A conversion.

I get my bonus in April. This was a pre-lease coupled with tariff shipping slow downs but it’s here! I did their (TECHING) 5 cylinder radial engine last year and it was a joy. This is more like putting together an R/C plane/car - no painting, screw together and oil included. Still a model  Also - I’m not fully up to speed on turboshaft engines so maybe learn something. And I’ll build my Blackhawk and Apache to sit next to it.

Packaging and manual are just fantastic

This looks very interesting. I’ll have to look into it.

And my excuse can be that it’s great for kids to learn how this stuff works. :slightly_smiling_face:

They are a bit pricey - but really fun https://www.enginediy.com/
