In very good condition, seems like one of the better Matchbox Kits .
It was kinda cool Matchbox used to mold kits in multiple colors.
Ordered these F/A-18E/F/G Super Hornet Seamless Intakes (Hasegawa) from Phase Hanger Resin - Mike actually reduced his prices! Very nice clean prints. I’ll shop there again!
Missing the Quinta Studio cockpit set which is languishing in customs but I will still have plenty to keep me busy.
my first chopper kit, I won’t modify it that much:
I got it for cheap and intend to do one supplied by czechia to ukraine:
I’m actually about to start on the Meng FA/18 F - what specifically, is the issue with the kit parts here?
Read this build.
You will want to modify the rotor blades so they don’t strike the tail if turned. Outside of that I think it is modelers choice on mods/details they do or don’t make to their model.
Dealing with the intake seams. I normally don’t buy these and just deal with the seam - but I saw these at a reasonable price and thought I’d give them a try. 1st time.
I intend to do it from the box since it’s my first chopper kit tho I’ll take the build in account, My correction won’t go as far as this guy did, tho I’ll use it to practice my airbrush too since I’ll have to paint the ukrainian markings
Coincidentally, I had a Hind land today. Going to finish it as an Iraqi machine from that decal sheet I bought. Hobbyboss do provide Iraqi decals but the colours seem off.
Looks very nice, but have to agree with a lot of reviewers about the rocket pods. Definitely not right!
Fortunately, Hobbyboss do include a very nice weapons set. Has a pair of much better UB-32’s and I’ll probably use them with some gunpods or fuel tanks.
And some extra bits from Air Graphics for a couple of future projects.
Edit: didn’t upload the weapon sprue! Lots of goodies here.
There is some olden goldies in there.
for some reason, the recent edition of the amiot is quite rare and helelr didn’t released their 631 so I took the occasion to get them and the H35
1/72 Hasegawa X-29 arrived
That’s a jet I’ve always wanted to do. Must have a look for a couple. A good candidate for a WHIF scheme.
I had a couple more Whirlybirds land today.
First off, Hasegawa’s Hind-A. I’ve always preferred the early Hind, a much nicer looking aircraft. Looks less like a bug than the D.
And the Hobbyboss Lynx HMA.8. Probably my favourite helicopter. Unfortunately, Hobbyboss told a porkie on the boxart as the Seaskua missiles are not provided (although the German Mk.88 boxing does have them), but you do get torpedoes.
Oh, and the rear crew seats are wrong. They gave Army style bench seats rather than the inflatable couch on later Navy Lynx. Luckily, I have got one of these spare from Airfix’s attempt at updating their old Lynx a few years ago.
Well, that’s a decent harvest, Stephen! Good luck!
