Carlos. May I ask, what is the Monty figure like? Passable?

I have been looking at this set as I plan to scratch build his Leyland Retriever Office van using the ICM kit as a base - and you can’t have the truck without its occupant!

Peter, the Monty figure looks a bit nicer than the old Tamiya figure in the same pose. There are also Monty figures by Riich “Road to Victory” and Masterbox “Famous Generals” sets. I can’t vouch for those, as I don’t have either set.

From photos, the one in Masterbox’s Generals of WW II seems better but not that good

I was trying to find my built and painted (not at all well) Tamiya figure, but I’m not sure where I packed him up when I moved two years ago… I just went thru some of my stuff and found where he wasn’t…

Here is my Tamiya Monty figure from this photo. Finally found him in the evening yesterday. I forgot to paint his mustache…

Tamiya got the profile ok, but the head on features are not quite right…

Ah the days of high waisted pants! Yes the face is a little fuller than Monty’s. Tamiya was quite off on the length of the pullover and the size of the cuffs on the trousers too. Well it is a 35 year old mould…
