The kit I always wanted as a kid and never got. When I got back into the hobby as an adult the first kit I built. Now found this for £15 on famous auction site so an OOB down memory lane build is in the offing, hopefully with a better result than my first go with airbrush, pigments etc…

Parts and figures missing and 20 years of dust, just shows that pigments stay on even after decades without fixer, just can’t touch it!

So it’s been a bit since I posted an update on latest acquisitions…. I’ve been nickel and diming it here and there…

firstly with the recent announcement that Archer was closing up shop, I decided to pick up some of their marking sets I need for few different projects. It’s now or never…

finally, at IPMS I had won a couple of gift certificates to Andy’s Hobby HQ from monthly chapter contests. Yesterday I went and came home with this baby… along with some mundane supplies that are really not worth taking a photo of but used up the rest of my certificates amount.

Now to build something…

“The kit is out there”. :alien:

Thank you. Wanted it for a while and decided to quit wanting and just order it.

Here’s a little music to go with that order… :notes::notes::notes::notes::notes:

These didn’t arrive in the mail, but I picked these up today at a used bookstore that was having an inventory reduction sale.

Maybe we should start a new thread about what we bought/found at the local hobby shop, thrift store, garage sale, etc.

I like the idea for that thread a lot!

Perhaps also a thread on what I found in my stash I forgot I had? Or what I bought at a bargain and realized I already had?

The ‘Postman’ thread already works. Why break it apart like that? Maybe just overhaul the title a wee bit?

Ha I bought the entire series on Nazi Germany way back in the 70’s. Might still have it somewhere.

I agree with Mike. This thread is appropriate and adequate so those acquisitions don’t get lost in dead threads buried away

I like it the way it is. Why try and fix it. Its not broken.

Scored some stuff from the big dumb auction platform; a dude was practically giving away
Y-Modelle and PSM Bergepanzer conversions and kits.
Hobby Boss kit also came from there and is the base for the Wisent II.

Got this today. Has to wait until I’ve cleared my GW1 stash but looks, judging by the weight of the box, an impressive build.

I’ve been topping up on my stash of figures and these arrived today (slow boat from China, and in all honesty I’d almost forgotten about them!); they are incredibly useful for conversion to Cold War tank crews. Being in coveralls they often only require some minimum tweaking, add Hornet Heads to taste and voila! In my opinion of course; they also lend themselves to the requirement for figures for the M60 - as raised on another thread.

I used them on my ancient M48:

That ASU 57 to mee is the queen of the Prom

What ASU 57 are you talking about? You respond to a picture of a Sturmtiger?

ooopps sorry

If those two Menhirs are meant to be part of the scene, that M48 must be really ancient…
Cheers,
