That huge block of strap riveted wood it just a giant heavy plank that serves little or no structural purpose at all.
Might as well be a plank from the Titanic that Kate Winslet floats to safety on! Big enough for her AND Leo.

Yeah, way too many heavy planks for that load
This airbrush-guide from ammo is great. I’m not safe in using the airbrush, this magazine answers all my questions and informs about everything I am not sure. They explain with the “aircobra” from ammo, that’s my airbrush too.
I am sure, when I have read this one to the end, I will be not that nervous when start painting as I am until now.
Mig Jeminez says, your airbrush can be your best friend, I say, this magazine helps to make it true.
I am really enthused!
I hope to see some pictures of the 1/16 stuff on the sherman✌
It will probably be later this year or next before I work the kit. From Value Gears website photo is too big to post. Value Gear Details - Sci Fi Supplies!
The old problem: far too little time for all that great models want to be build✌
Whilst the Takom M103A1 comes with a metal barrel, as Kurt Laughlin has already reported, one cannot use it with the kit’s mantlet cover, ergo, one has to make one’s own mantlet cover. As I’m a great fan of metal barrels I thought I’d procure the RB barrel and here it is:
I’d already procured same for my Dragon version so wished for both models (when I get around to it admittedly) to at least have corresponding barrels. The RB barrel sems to be a bit longer than the Takom metal version, but to me (and I know this is appallingly unscientific) the longer the gun the better on any model of an M103(!)
Obviously, I will make my own mantlet cover from Milliput or similar.
Forgive me my less than purist approach.
Design for much more plausible cribbing arrangement to support that mini-sub on the 115 trailer.
(I didn’t say it was correct only that it is a more plausible design)
There would be at least 3 full sets of the cross cribbing spread out under the length of the keel of the sub and the ribs seen here as end-on would run the full length of the cradle.
If only I still had a CAD program I could have laid this out in 3D and shown it to you in perspective, in about the same amount of time it took me to make this one drawing.
Some hobby store visits plus Mr.Postman brought to a new home these jewels:
Border Model’s Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf G Late (#BT-001)
ICM’s Ford G917T (#35413)
Orange Model’s Sd.Ah.51 3D Printed (#G35-109-68)
Eduard’s Brassin Notek and Convoy Lights(#635022 and 635023)
Eduard’s Zimmerit StuG.III Ausf.G waffel(#35752)
I’ve been on a Panzer IV builds train lately, so why not adding another Bulgarian Maybach to the queue…
I missed buying the G917T several years ago, so received it as a gift from Kalin.
The Sd.Ah.51 will carry the LZ Models resin 2.0 cm FlaK 30 kit I bought recently.
While Eduard’s Brassin Notek/Convoy Lights looked too damned handsome to skip ordering them- same with the Alkett Zimmerit(I still need to find and buy the Dragon StuG III Ausf.G that will have it, but at least that’s a start ).
Cheers,
Happy Angel
That looks quite interesting
Interesting stuff to read, you pointed me in a good direction
A recent photo posted by a friend of mine who relocates houses and barns for a living:
p.s. Tee - That’s a great reference you found covering the guidelines for cribbing!
Angel, is that 3D printed Sd.Ah.51 trailer going to be an improvement over the several already available injected molded ones? I look forward to perhaps seeing more into on that one!

So this came in the mail today:
The kit parts look great, as do the 3D printed wheels. Only one problem–there are no painting and decaling instructions in the kit.
This one just showed up…in a paper mailing envelope.
This one will remain in the closet until I have more experience with complicated paint jobs and figures. And chrome. I would like to model the vehicle gifted to General Franko, which still exists and was the prototype for this model.
Arrived the other day. … Good stuff!
Had to order sizes from two seperate Amazon sellers. Here are their links:
HARELINE Lead Wire .015
HARELINE Lead Wire .020 and .025
