Wow. From one of the lightest to one of the heaviest. I like them both. It’s amazing the advances in design in just about 5 years.
The panzer 38t us my favorite platform! My stash is about 50 or so kits of those I now have 6 based on the Panzer 38t!
I’ve always loved the SU-152, it just looks like it is there to make someones day very bad.
Two of my favorite things modeling are seeing how machines changes drastically in a short time period.
And 2 is comparing two machines in the same scale! I am building a Ki-84 right now and despite both being single engine prop planes it looks like a toy next to TBM avenger
Another interesting thing is how precise and well made the CKD LT vz. 38 is compared to the rough SU-152. The first, designed and made to meet the pre-war requirements, the other cobbled together to meet a need without any thought as to service life.
Until you see the SU-152 up real close, you just don’t realise how crude it is. Absolutely made for a purpose, not for aesthetics. And, yes, I would not want to be on the recieving end.
I never even considered that point, the difference in design from that point of view is also interesting!
And yes, there are loads of pictures of German tanks supposedly knocked out by SU and ISU-152 and they are pretty gnarly
Well - I’m preparing for my son’s birthday next weekend. He’s going to receive this:
And for being such a great father I was rewarded (err… self-rewarded really) with this monstrosity:
Holy crap! That’s a lot of lens you’ve got there! Does it have macro?
Yes - it is 1:1 150 mm macro lens for m4/3
Nice! Beautiful lens! Great purchase!
Thank you!
Some AK CARC tan to try out. And some 3D gladhands from our own MikeyBugs.
Four different paints in CARC now, looking forward to seeing the results.
I really want one of those Topol’s. The cost is the only prohibitor for me at this point. I know there is a 1/72, but I want the 1/35 one sheerly for the size.
The donor kit for the Hobby Link mortar carrier arrived today. The conversion kit is en route from Wanamaker.
That’s really cool that you got them. My father passed away when I was just a little kid and any of his things that I ended up with, I cherish. My father was a great man. I am sure that you will think of your father every time you use the files. Thank you for sharing.
I’m building that Panzer 38(t) Ausf.B, but the Tristar kit, now it’s HobbyBoss, it has a full interior, a lot of PE for the gearbox, very detailed. It’s a very nce kit but not an easy build.
I finished my E-75 two weeks ago. Very nice, easy build, no problems at all, except for the tracks. I see you got some AM Tracks. Good Call !!
Also be aware, the suspension with the wheels are a little thin / fragile with the track tension and weight.
And the gun barrel is huge… really huge…
Me too… But with more than 250 kits in stash… I’ll wait
I pondered the interior or no interior for a while but settler on the interior as it was only $8 more. I know most of it won’t be seen, but it’s my favorite light tank so i thought I should do it justice
