Luciano, great to see you at the show (also mentioned within the shows bit); we discussed your Porsche Project at some length so I’m looking very forward to seeing what you do with this one - as and when of course(!)
Thanks Brian, lots of work to do and organise. It will test me as I’m mainly an aircraft and ship modeller alongside wargame stuff, as mentioned the individual track links are going to be the first for me except some I did years ago on a 1/72 Pz.I !
Found the Dragon Wittman crew on Scalemates that you mentioned, think they are useable for what I’m after but now to try and find a set for sale.
I recommend going online to the USPS site. There’s an easy link for registering complaints about poor service. You’ll be surprised how delivery habits can improve. …![]()

Thank you, Mike!
Nice haul Venko!
I have one preordered at Hobbyland.
Cheers,
Angel
I bought it from there, should be in stock.
Regarding KV-1 grilles, note that they are tapered towards the turret, something that Tamiya got right but seems quite difficult to make with this Aber set, as far as I can see…
Thanks for the information. Thankfully the kit screens are a separate part so I have options on how to address when I get to that stage.
Have any thoughts on how it might compare to the Trumpeter kit?
In the Russian-language segment of the Internet, I did not find at least a little significant review/comparison with the model from Trumpeter. There are many complaints about the model itself - it contains parts typical of cars of different years of production. But I didn’t find anything bad about the quality of the castings. The controversy surrounding the model was such that the Karopka model forum had to close the thread discussing new products from Zvezda.
I don’t know honestly, but looks like very nice kit for that price, it is cheaper than the Trumpeter kit and Zvezda is more available locally.
Thanks for the information. I could see any manufacturer grabbing the wrong vehicle to model. With over 40 yrs of manufacturing, different manufacturers and models chances are high to get a hodgepodge of parts.
Is that more from accuracy or political issues?
Valid reasons for a purchase. ![]()
Because of the model policy. Russian modellers calmly accept new products from foreign companies: if they don’t like them, they don’t buy them. The requirements for Zvezda products are maximum: everyone should like the models; completely, right down to the spark in the cylinders, correspond to the original and are distributed free of charge, although you can also pay extra.
So modelers around the world are no different. ![]()
Hmmm, one wonder if an AI designed the kit or just an inattentive human?
Saying that in jest, because over on Missing Lynx, it seemed some of the mass mess of mistakes in a box also known as a Takom Stug III kit(s) might best be explained by a rogue AI randomly collecting details from doing web based research according to at least one aficionado.
I think he was joking, hard to tell with the serious ones sometimes ![]()
On a serious note, most Zvezda AFV kits look excellent from what I’ve seen.
