Since 2018 when Zvezda went full CAD/CAM in designing their kits, They have been releasing remarkable models. Engineering, fit, and detail are superb. Buildability is excellent and their kits are some of the best on the market OOB.
I’m a sucker for these old Renwal kits.
“Exclusive new design insures positive assembly and no show cementing”
The kit is very good on first inspection, quality parts and clear instruction, the clear parts for the windows are very nice also. Don’t mind few inaccuracies here and there. I will probably start building it soon ![]()
That Lacrosse kt looks fun - I built the re-popped Atomic Annie a few years back. Is yours a re-pop, or an original? If the latter it would be too valuable to collectors to even dare opening the box!
No, it’s an original from oldmodelkits.com
I’ll build it.
Edited to add:
There is a later 1960s re boxed Renwal Lacrosse also available:
Please do a blog of the build. What version do you think you will build? The orange version does look interesting to me.
I have the Revell (I think) 1:40 version, which I really must get around to doing something with; I love these nukes from the 50s.
I also have the Corporal on its transporter; I built the missile itself some time ago, but forgot to include anything to help indicate its size, so if I get around to doing the version with the transporter then display them together, problem solved, as well as being, hopefully, visually interesting:
Anyway, 'love to see what you do with the Lacrosse.
Hi, I was thinking to make a small Afghanistan diorama with the GRU officer I painted ago. And yes, the orange variant looks tempting. Not decided yet ![]()
An interesting idea. ![]()
My mistake for failing to complain to USPS last time for their poor handling of the other package, jammed into the mail box.
My Tamiya Elefant arrived, it was poorly packaged but USPS did their part trying to destroy it as well.
Handled so badly the plastic bag is scuffed and distorted. Obviously, the box was damaged.
Left crappy Amazon seller bad feedback as well for terrible packaging.
Elefant kits an endangered species too being to slow to get out of way?
Complaining to USPS about this one…and the other one.
I think your postman should stuff it…you know where!
Indeed!
Went to the post office to address issue face to face with package in hand. Left a few minutes ago.
Our regular mail carrier was on leave this week. Tis the mayhem of a temporary carrier/newbie and will be addressed. This makes sense to me as we’ve never had any USPS delivery issues before.
-
No more boxes will be jammed into mail bix per written instructions. All packages will be delivered to door. That’s should fix Tuesday’s issue.
-
The Elefant was photographed and will be mentioned appropriate person. Supervisor felt the bix was most likely crushed in sorting when a big heavy box landed on it.
I expect that will be the end of this week’s issue.

BTW - Elfant looks pretty good despite the link & length tracks. First inspection the L<’s appear punch mark free.
My “harvest” since mid October:
More horses and riders(and horse tack and horseshoes).
Some Quinta decals for kits in the stash.
WWI Russian and Austro-Hungarian MG Teams.Besides donoring my Bulgarian Gruson cart driver, now I have some Schwarzlose MG’s and Steyr-Mannlicher rifles and carbines(the principle firearm equipment of Bulgarian Army in both World Wars).
Then a Nibelungen Pz.IV for my “Maybach fever”- although I built 5 Maybachs this year, I still have to build a Bulgarian Ni-Werke tank, and this is the third, I acquire.
So a Nibelungen Maybach binge build (with 3 tanks from various production periods) is planned for year’s end.
And last but not least- the Uaz 469 by Zvezda. It will be built as the vehicle of Sixth Frontier Point “Nimfa”-a Golden Memory from the time of my service.
Important Note: All boxes and packs were succesfully smuggled home!

Cheers,

I’ve found that desk clerks will often give you a lollipop and send you on your way — all the while covering-up for their fellow employee. As mentioned earlier, I would take the extra step of going to the USPS online site to register an official complaint. And while you’re at it, mention that you have the incident recorded on your security camera. That really tends to get their attention! …![]()

Thank you, Mike.
Here’s stills of the postal worker throwing the Elefant on the front porch. You can hear it hit with a nasty thud because she wasn’t that close to door. Probably threw it five or six feet.
Watching that video makes me mad
. Maybe I need to go back to the post office and show this to the supervisor.
However, paperwork was filled out on incident so it should be documented. Likewise talked with clerk who supervisor. If there’s another occurrence I will ratchet up response to post master plus online.
Trust me… don’t go to the desk. Go through USPS online. I’ve done this for two separate issues in the past and the Regional Supervisor contacted me within two days. Both times, the issues were resolved immediately — even included a follow-up call.

PS: ‘Tis the Season’ and USPS is shorthanded… Falah-lah-lah-blah-blah-blah-blah… I get it. But the “new driver card” and a lollipop to shut me up doesn’t work with me. I don’t want a freakin’ lollipop! I just want what I pay a lot of $$$ for — un-damaged goods.
so sorry, they’re getting lazy
nothing to show yet, but I am so weak…
So, it happens all over the world, for crying out loud,
I’m getting desperate from those couriers. You should be proud in your job.
Our National Post is sold for some times now, I try to avoid them, but some times there is no choice.
The worst experience was a AMX 105 from France to the Netherlands, the courier rang the doorbell, and was going to give the package. I said what are you doing, do want to deliver this to me in this state
? Shame on you, I said. Yes, he said, it was it this state, you can call with the servicedesk if you are not satisfied. I did call and the first thing she said was: you are not insured. I said I thought that for this kind of money they should have some responsibility. The seller is insured, she said. Several parts were broken. So I turned to the (ebay)seller in France, he never experienced such a thing, but send me a new kit. Glory to the seller!
Wow!
Must have backed the truck over it to make absolutely sure it got trashed.
Glad the event had a happy ending thanks to seller.
