Unfortunately, the ‘warehouse’ here in Australia has a very limited selection of kits to choose from.
Finally, the ultimate F-14 kit is here :)…after my Revell test mule, time for the real thing… it is going to be top gun themed
And something extra on top
And since the winter is here, time for a self made display cabinet (more to come on another thread)… I am gonna need this for sure:
Ryan, that’s great information on Lucky Model. Lucky should give you perk as that information prompted my order
Might have to ask Raymond about that the next time I see him.
Got a box from Warsaw, Poland, today, a largish paint shipment from Hataka. The Polska Post is fast (a week) and economical ($8).
I bought 4 sets from their Orange Line, which are ready-to-airbrush lacquers. I have shot these paints before, and they are incredibly good. No clogs, nice coverage, excellent opacity, dry fast and rock hard, and great adhesion.
I got the US Army MAASTER set, the IJA set, the WWII French set, and the WWII Polish set. The supplied colors are very accurate according to all of the book and internet photos and research I have acquired over the years.
The back of the boxes provide painting guides and descriptions of all the colors. These paints are available from many local internet shops and by the bottle in case you only want to buy a couple of colors or just one set.
Some stuff for my new series, East German NVA plus Blast Models brandnew Abrams SCWS kit.
I got it as sample for my assistance.
Arrived Friday…Ryefield Model’s T-80U #5105…looks sweet, I’m not up to date on cold war forward afv’s…the box art sold the kit…it looks fun to paint!
The old Soviet Union’s debt to South Korea was paid by giving South Korea ~33 T-80’s.
Took delivery of this today. I was allowed a quick picture or two before it was whisked away for a 22day holiday…looks bloody amazing in the box. Looking forward to getting my hands on it properly
@ Paul (pod3105). Looking forward to seeing how the parts look and how they build up.

Happy Birthday TeeAge.
Now that I’m interested in! Are you likely to start the build any time soon? If so, I’ll definitely be watching.
Hi Brian,
I just started cleaning the first part. Maybe I will make a separate report on it.
I’ve been toying with getting the version with a canopy; I do remember these during our infrequent visits to the Inner German Border; they might be some distance away, but as they were part of "enemy forces! (if you get what I mean) they always looked doubly different and even sinister; mind you, the IGB was sinister, and then some.
I do have a love/hate relationship with resin; I can make them but never enjoy the process! To that end I’d appreciate any info as you go along, or certainly if you identify any problems.
Good luck!
PS: I know it sounds bizarre but upon visiting my daughter some years ago (she then lived in the Midlands) whilst walking around her village, in a somewhat derelict state in a garden, was a Robur!
You are talking about the Grenztruppen or Border Guards. These were technically troops were part of the Ministy of the Interior, not Volksarmee, despite of the NVA uniform. I have a co-worker that served as captain on the border in Thuringia and he told me many “war stories” of his time on the border.
The word robur in latin means strength.
(Trivia: Volvo means ‘I roll’)
No, sure; I get the difference, but I’ve never forgotten that sort of feeling of foreboding and even desolation as one surveyed the rather bleak landscape of endless fortifications, and strange trucks and uniforms.
I really must revisit my Trabant model and get it finished off; a depressing recurrence when it comes to my modelling(!)
'Glad to see the construct thread of the Robur, and look very forward to it all.
I did not know that; every day’s a school day!
