Yeah I know but they are the only ones doing Weasel tracks and they do look good. I saw a club members build before I did purchase. I do plan to get Takom’s latest artic kit as well so I added another set to the list.
Happy with Sprue Brother’s lightning deal last week with Amusing Hobby’s T-90A for $49.99, about half of MSRP. Had to “rationalize” shipping cost with with Tamiya goodies.
Good information thank you. I checked those links and some of my devices at home. Seems there’s around 4 different shapes of chager “plugs”. Which one to buy- I’m not sure.
There are a lot of USB connector types. But not to fear. The regular, “standard” (ha!) USB connector is the most common. It’s the one you’ve seen on everything, and think of as “USB.” It’s technically USB-A.
The Dspiae sander (and a lot of their other tools) comes with a small cable that’s A on one end (for charging) and C on the other (for plugging in to the unit). The C is nice because you can flip it upside down and it still works.
Anyway, just get a charger with “A.” Most any charger is A. Most all charging cords are A on one end.
Most chargers are A. The sander has a cord that is A to C, so you’ll plug the A end into the charger and the C end into the sander and be right as rain.
However, there are two different connectors that are technically USB-A or USB-B, but are known as “mini” and “micro” because they’re smaller than the normal ones:
(In USB, “A” is the plug that goes into the device that controls the other, “B” is the plug that goes into the device that is being controlled. “C” does not fit this scheme, but will go into both.)
@Armor_Buff@loncray I’m so friggin frackin jealous of youz guyz - it’s September payday-wise and my no new models moratorium is now three months old - I get all shaky and sweaty every month when my pension check comes in and I can’t buy any models. I had to watch that glorious Lightning Deal come and go without hitting the Add button, it was so painful. When it comes to Russian junk, I really like the T90, and I’m in love with Amusing Models, they’re so good. SWMBO is so happy. I’m so sad. Oh well, on we go… @SableLiger You must have one HUGE mailbox!
Matt, I admire your iron discipline, no new models! To be honest, I’m very jealous!
My pledge is like Bush 41’s “no new taxes” pledge…an epic backslide, with the logic of a government study on ketchup flow. Extreme lunacy, as I rolled dice on several ship kits, one even British.
Anyway, it seemed like a good idea at the time…but of course it wasn’t!
However, my hobby whims are stocked minus a few orders pending arrival. Hopefully, I’ve managed to run out of stuff I want to buy.
Well said! Russian AFV’s always seem to look good on paper, in video games, in museums and as weathered models.
BTW - today’s looking like the day for tasty Sprue Brothers Lightening deals for 1/35. I have to sit this one out…
I blame online shopping! If only I could cruise into my local Radio Shack or remaining equivalent and look at the various standup-type docks ‘til I find one that fit the Sander.
What makes it worse is that, even though there are only a few types of plug, these days the cable that’s between the plugs can also matter for many devices. Not for simple tools that just use USB for the 5 volts, 2 ampères it provides, but things like a monitor may not give the best possible picture if you use a cable of a certain specification instead of a higher-spec one, even though the plugs on both ends fit!
