What the postman brought today (Armorama)

Looks pretty much the business Frank; are you planning to modify it at all?

No, just fancied something quick.
The launcher requires a complete rebuild, as not set for travel, as the sight is stored for travel, may change the missiles as not looking right, just need to find my spare ones to show.

Not the postman but from a fellow club member. $100US for the lot. It’s better to be lucky than good.

I had these two items arrive today from Andy’s Hobby Headquarters.

Thank you Fred for letting me know about the Trippel SG6. It is really cool. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks to that Trippel, I know what the Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe did back during the war…

It’s not a bad build as I have one in progress. Def Model makes some wheels and Quinta has an instrument set.

Just released today.

First purchase from Andy in a while…

Number two on my Want List. About 18 months ago, I observed that this model was very rare. A short time later, Amusing Hobby released a second run of the kit. :slightly_smiling_face:

For those who do not know, back in days of yore, Terry Ashley did a review of all three 1/35 Neubaufahrzeugs and the one from Amusing Hobby came out on top by a significant margin.

Another one on my Want List since 2022. Most reviewers like the Meng kit better than the Takom kit but both are considered very good.

I like to support new model companies. Give em a push out the gate. Andy is now carrying Lanmo so… This went on my Want List the moment I saw it. If the fit is good, this may be an excellent 1/35 easy build armor model.

I’ve been stocking up; one never quite knows(!) and a load of goodies including one package from Dolp received today.

First the much awaited heads with headsets; I ordered these to complete my M48A2GA2, however, I think they’re just a tad too large for 1/35. They fit the Verlinden torsos well enough but the overall effect isn’t quite what I wanted. I might end up using them, or scratch a headset using the design, onto a Hornet Head. I’m not sure. A bit disappointing really and a bit of a pain having thought I was on to an easy fix:

Then these 2 x Feldjaeger figures, which really are very good for the 70s/80s.; I’ll replace the heads with something Wehrmachty (new word) from Hornet I think as sadly, the metal ones just don’t cut it.. I’m looking ahead in case anyone’s wondering to the release of the Das Werk VW 181. These will set it off nicely. I would like to have used one of the 3 x ACE Models Mungas I have, forlornly loitering in the stash, but they’re practically unbuildable, and I’m certainly not in the mood to sit down and wrestle with them; I may, of course, mellow(!)

At this distance I don’t know if I’ll display them with a victim, a suitable errant Bundeswehr model – a chance to utilise another kit from the stash, or as a small singleton vignette.

They will augment the Das Werk VW 181 well once it’s out:

Then a Flakpanzer M42 crew; these are modelled in the early splinter-ytpe camouflage uniform that the Bundeswehr initiated upon its inception, or soon after. It will make the M42 pretty action packed, as these figures are involved in firing the thing, which will make a nice change. Heads again will be replaced – which also means I have to scratch headsets. Groan. Anyway, some way down the line. I’m looking forward thought to the juxtaposition of a Wehrmacht-type uniform with such an iconic more modern piece of hardware:

Dolp also provide German traffic ordinance which I also ordered, for those German street dios:

Another package also arrived: some kids from FC Model Trend, required for a BAOR Chieftain dio I’m planning; you can’t depict an exercise without hordes of kids turning up:

And here they are with a bike also from FC Model Trend, and a moped which might have been from Ringo Resin - I’ve lost the packaging since this morning. I recall German kids seemed to be allowed to use mopeds from around 14 or so. Note the adult female figure from a firm that normally caters to the slot-car aficionados, but may well just about fit in, though she’s technically 1/32; I’m not too sure from my ailing memory if the clothes will fit in for the mid 70s, but I’ll probably let her stand as a fashion icon ahead of the time perhaps. The kids figures’ trousers will have to be modified to flares but that shouldn’t be a great problem. They are all grouped around a bench which came as a pair from Ringo Resin:

I hope to acquire the AK Boys set soon to fill out the crowd a bit. Painting civvies is going to be a 'mare! All this effort just to set-off a Cold War MBT.

So, a lot of investment for future projects - and I’m also now a bit broke(!)

The art and lighting on those FC Model Trend packages makes it look like all the figures are being rained on during a dark and gloomy day.

Ha! It does Lee doesn’t it? Their stuff is pretty good though. For some reason they’ve modelled their figures with cartoon masks on, however I have a cunning plan: as I need some boys as well as girls, and some of the poses in the AK set - due today - are of no use, I can merely replace the masked heads with the boys’ and create more figures. A lot of work coming up though when I start this project; all those flared trousers let alone researching German children’s fashions in the mid-70s.

As an aside, their little bicycle is a gem; I’ve broken it twice and lost a pedal!

Hi Frank, I wonder if that’ll ever be released in injection or as a full 3D kit.

Hobby Link, are you listening ?
