What the postman brought today (AutoModeler)

Hi Damian

Wow! That is one heck of a scratch plate!

I really like the idea of matching a car to a guitar. The Elcaster’s aged look would really look good on a 1930s / '40s car. Someone could have fun doing a sunburst finish on a car kit!

All the best

Same theorem applies to model kits!

D,
My formula has a much larger number for the constant added to X.

Hi Damian

Well, I can’t argue with Albert Einstein! There are certainly a couple of guitars I still want (i.e. need!) to add to my line-up: a Fender Electric XII (a '60s original was the classic “one that I didn’t buy” back in the '70s when I was on a strict budget and needed a more standard guitar for gigging - but OMG the sounds that thing made! :open_mouth: ), and I’d like to get a nice cheap Dan Electro 6-string (I’ve got their 12-string and baritone and they are ridiculously good for the price!).

So, the Elcaster got its first proper outing tonight and it was my first chance to try it through an amp without headphones… Wow! I already knew it was good - but it still rivalled that classic shared Kerrranngg! experience where we all fell in love with playing electric guitar! :grinning:

It’s also a dream to play - the neck and set-up are perfect for me, and it’s wonderfully light compared with my other electrics. The custom P90s sound fantastic - much richer than my traditional Tele pickups, with a bit of extra “gristle” too - but still with plenty of clarity - and they clean-up beautifully for lighter parts.

My Elcaster may be officially #5 in the production run of 10, but it’s instantly my new “Number 1” (with all due respect to my other guitars which I still hold dear). For me, it just nails it from every angle - feel, sound, looks and versatility.

All the best

Rowan

Very nice Luciano! I picked up several sets recently for my Tri-5 Chevy pending builds, including one for the '55 Stepside Street Machine. There are some amazing paint jobs on their website and Facebook pages for inspiration!

Hall of Flame – Lazy Modeller

Cheers, D

Thanks D, I got these ready for the flame campaign if I can get back to the bench by then that is.
Got some ideas already but will check out the videos as you never stop learning, now to decide what car to use them on, maybe an El Camino?

Gary,
Looks like a wicked bike for sure.

I still can’t wait for a model package from Anywhere for more then a few weeks. I once went nearly 2 months from Spain and promised myself never again.

Hence, these days I try to buy USA only, or spring for UPS or Fed Ex if I have to buy from over seas.

Postie brought a few things.
Haven’t seen the movie(Nor will I ever) but that GTX is supercool.

Two metal signs, for my garage. The 'Cuda sign is completely flat, but the Mustang sign is nicely embossed.

Jesper,
the GTX should be a very popular subject with the movie being released, and here you can actually now go to the movies, but like you, it’s not exactly my “cup of tea”. Now the 1961 Pontiac did catch my eye. I was only in my 2nd year of High School then, but was already starting to take notice of the hot street cars, and anything Pontiac was hot.

The Pontiac Grand Prix was so hot that even my parents bought one when I put on a heavy campaign when it was time to replace the family car. That was one really sweet ride. I actually got to take my drivers test in it, and use it just locally during the day till I got my 1st car.

I’m really interested in those two metal signs. I’ve never seen signs like that before.

Very nice Jesper, I like the Ventura.

Any way postie dropped off some more two wheeled machines, I think there may be a bit of a Kawasaki theme going on. Also a Monkey to join the Gorilla now just need an Ape.

When I got my drivers licens, my mom had a Ford Taunus/Cortina. At that time is was a fairly decent car, not Pontiac hot, but decent. When my mom decided to sell it, I too put on a heavy campaign, but to no avail; She sold it and bought a 1975 Ford Escort 1,1, in a bright orange color. That car was anything but hot.

I have quite a lot of them. I put them up in my “garage”. Been adding at least 7 more, from when this picture was taken. The Mustang sign, I might put up, in my hobby room though. Most, of them, cost 10-20 Euro’s.

Luciano, That old 900 Super 4, is gorgeous.

Jesper,
What a great idea for a garage. A little tight to work on the Brakes and suspension, but the engine bay looks roomy enough/ Way better then leaving it outside year long. I’ve got a 2 door/3 bay garage at home, and I spend way too much time sweeping and cleaning it. Although of late I’ve been slowly adding storage shelving for more car maint. stuff.

There’s no room, for a garage, at my house, so this was an excellent option. It’s a farm, 7 minutes walk, from my house and doesn’t cost my anything. Earlier, this year, we made a concrete ramp, so no more 3 stage wooden steps/ramp.

There’s just enough space , for me to get out, of the car.

A 2 door/3 bay garage would suit me just fine, my son could do the sweeping

Jesper,
Just a great idea, short walk, and you can’t beat the monthly rental of FREE.

joel

Not the mail but pick this up at Hobby Lobby for about $20.
