Jim,
this was my 2nd build of the kit. The 1st time around it was my 2nd car kit years ago that I kind of modified to a K. Both times I did have some issues with the cockpit and engine sections not fitting the tub. What if found mostly on the 1st kit was that the cockpit/engine bulkhead was the main problem, Another issue was the inner wheel wells that also needed some reshaping. Eventually I got it to the point that I could glue both upper sections to the tub. And both times those rear wheel wells caused me a lot of trouble, but I got both built. Here’s the 1st build. Look closely and you’ll see that the tub and cockpit seam isn’t perfectly flush on this side. I did manage to do a some what better job with the Gulf car but still had the similar issues. the only other 1/24 scale 917s are by MFH, which are both out of my price range, and way above my modeling skill level.
Ryan,
Like D, I’m looking forwarded to following both of your builds.
I’ve never got around to buying or building the Tamiya Porsche 911 GT2 which is a curbside kit on steroids. The GT4 Mustang is a fantastic kit and nicely detailed. You’re going to love it. I built it OOB when it 1st hit the shelves.

That looks really noice. I look forward to the Ford kit as it looks like a great kit. I like the Porsche kit also as I have a few of the GT2s. It looks nicer then the 911 Turbo I did and million miles better then the AMT truck. I am going to need some comfort kit afterwards.
Jim,
I’m always in the mood for some Jagermeister. Got a few in the display, and a Porsche 962C Jag planned for a curbside build after my 1/24 scale McLaren M8B build.
Joel,
Just adding to my endurance racing stash! I am thinking of getting some Dunlop tire decals for it, and it’s missing the Dunlop sticker on the body as well. Indycals seems to have that covered though.
Ryan,
I guess my Jagermeister statement was misconstrued as I was trying to say that it’s one of the paint schemes that I love to watch race on the track. As for the beer, never had any.

The wife likes to go about ever other week for school supplies. So I hit the model isle and it’s usually 40% off. I am hoping they get some newer releases otherwise I might start coming home empty handed and that doesn’t sound right.
