If you are like me, you have a room with shelves of built kits.
So show off your over loaded shelves!
I have to build some more very shortly, running out of room!
More shelves than mine. What scale do you usually model in?
Yeah, I just had that set up made a few yers ago. I’m working on filling up the other side now. I mostly build 1/35 armor & 1/48 aircraft, but have a few other odds & ends subjects and scales as well.
Same as me, with scifi/fantasy thrown in.
Have a 1/200 ship there too, couple of rather large dioramas coming that will certainly need their space LOL…
Lol, Nice. Your place looks like Lou Delmaso’s. Except he’s gottem in Every room of his house. Started building 3 1/2 yrs ago, I’m 66 and don’t think I’ll run into to storage soon. Good Post and Nice builds
Ye gods! Wish I had the space to run to half of that! My display cabinets are now full, to the extent that I’m going to have to think about scrapping some of my oldest stuff, or transferring it to the loft so I can start work on my stash, which is likewise starting to take over! Here’s photos of some of my cabinets, there are others. SWMBO has banned any “Nazi” stuff from the living room so I can’t expand into there. I am aware that I could make better use of the space shown here, I’m giving that some thought…
Makes my collection look very small LOL!
A full wet bar - NICE!
Yeah, its nice to mix up a drink, sit in the chair, listen to music, and look at my builds.
The two low ones came from a guy in Ohio who used to make them I got the two curios from a discount store, and the big piece cheap from a house sale nearby
I’d have to have a whole additional house for all that!
Then again, that would assume that I’d actually completed something!!
Don’t worry Darkhorse. You’ll get there! My collection represents something like 60 years on and off, including four years working for a model soldier manufacturer. Incidentally this put me off eventually, doing your hobby for work spoils it for you. It wasn’t until I started working nights in the 90s that I took it up again.
If you have a used furniture store in town, they will get these display cabinets in on a regular basis for pretty cheep. My last one was 6 foot tall, about 3 foot wide for $60. It was in good shape but missing the shelves. $30 to the glass shop for 6 shelves. All good.
Here’s what’s on my shelf.
The top shelf is pretty much stuff that I’ll probably never build or at least not until pickin’s get slim. I also have the Trumpeter Pantir and the Meng Buk air defense system on another shelf.
I sent an earlier picture of the Shelves of Doom to a friend of mine at work and told her to pick one and that would be the next one I build. She picked the Italeri Gun Truck that I’m working on now. I didn’t know she hated me that much!
Couple of pics of my Merkava collection, the Merkava 1 is a great kit, the track links are always a pain LOL.
Will ask the wife for her phone and take some more pics with it!
Very good work!
Going around the room starting from the door, My Panzer I’s, II’s, 35(t)/38(t)'s, and a few others. The shelf below is being repurposed into a continuous shelf that will house a rail line comprised of a segment for each of my railroad builds and that will (hopefully) connect seamlessly and appear as one long piece.
My Panzer III’s, IV’s, V’s, and beyond plus some builds kind of in the way at the moment.
Air- and ground-based projectile weaponry for the moment.
Aircraft, and temporary junk. This area is going to be modified to accommodate more kits and make them more visible.
And over my PC are my softskins and non-tank AFVs.
In the next room are my automobiles and science fiction kits but I don’t have a current pic. I’d take one now but my daughter’s bf is sleeping on the couch (where I can keep an eye on him lol).
This is separate from my stash room, of course.
