Who is going to the show at Ft. Moore's collection?

I was escorted by the curator and director.

They know trouble when they see it.

I get that, and we only looked around the corner but I tell you, if you had someone escort a small group of photos-only on a brief tour of what is in the field that would be awesome.

I’m the guy who when watching American Pickers would always get frustrated when I could see really interesting stuff in the background that the guys never went and took a look at. I just hope the hydrostatic isn’t allowed to completely deteriorate.

Great photos, Dan. Thanks for those and the ones you sent me.
Too bad I couldn’t make it, but I’ll be doing a four post research tour soon that will include Fort Moore.

IF we did that at every open house, we’d be stretched keeping an eye on the public inside the Tankodrome. I’ve caught folks trying to discharge the fire extinguishers on the BAE MPF, open a latched box on the SEPv4 backplate, and even starting to mount a vehicle.

And once offered, inevitably the jungle telegraph brings more curiosity.

IF you want free rein, come volunteer. You’ll earn trust, contribute to the pool of shared knowledge, and have fun. Plenty of time to go look for a special something, say a T92.

Perhaps in a few years when I retire from teaching I’ll look into that.

While I am not at all surprised I am still dismayed by the fact some people think you can just clamber all over museum displays. I worked retail in Manhattan and some people just do not know how to act in a public venue.

I’d like to volunteer, but I live on the other side of the country.

Talk to my wife please! In my perfect world, i’d live in that area for the winter months.
