No problem. Yeah, top gun drones and watercraft don’t belong in the “armor/afv” discussion either…
I think there’s a separate wish list thread going in the aircraft model section of the kitmaker forum, no?
As to the railroad modeling in 1/35, this is simply my opinion:
It is not my cup of tea so no concern here.
Trumpeter dabbled on the subject with some WWII German trains, and the kits were very expensive in my view. I’ve heard they were a financial failure so I doubt that there will be an announcement of such.
I am 99% sure that there will NOT be a release of armored locomotive line in 1/35 from any major manufacturers. I do not think there’s enough interest or demand for ROI. 100% sure we’ll see more Tigers, Panzers, and pointing Nazi soldiers bc they make money. There’s a gentleman on Tamiya Magazine FB page who has been crying for 1/35 trains for decades. Tamiya has been ignoring him but he is not giving up. Never going to happen from Tamiya or any others in my opinion. Having said that, this whole discussion becomes moot because it’s not going to happen.
Wish all you want of course. Armored locomotive could stay in the broad “armor/afv” topic in my opinion but the release will only remain in the dream world.
Trust me. I would never wish for a SEAL in a wetsuit. Maybe the gal in the downstairs swimming pool at the JW Marriott in Seoul, but definitely not a SEAL.
@18bravo Rob, the closest to a female figure in a wetsuit with weapon and gear is Nutsplanet’s “Orca” with comes in 150mm (1/12) and 75mm (1/24) scales, and the option of a Vector machine pistol or a crossbow as the primary weapon.
It’s been out for many years. South Korea actually acted on your idea a long time ago.
(There are other Nutsplanet female figures that look similar to “Orca” but with different weapons, poses, and weapons).
Most likely too late for 2024, but possible for 2025…GM Defense’s “Next Generation” pickup concept demonstrator and prototype. I want the 4-harddoor option with .50cal and Javelin ATGM remote weapons station, two loitering munitions in the cargo bed, and tethered sUAS.
I was referring to the 1/35 Br-52 and 80, and that German diesel switcher. Otherwise, I do not know of any other 1/35 steam locos coming out. But we can dream.
For 2025…Leonardo/BlueHalo Directed Energy C-UAS Stryker with 30mm XM914 RWS with 7.62mm coaxial, 4-shot APKWS rocket pod, Titan C-UAS jamming system, 26 kW C-UAS laser (in the back, the two blue circles), radars, and 360-degree cameras. It is a demonstrator prototype.
Nonetheless, the GM Defense Next-Generation tactical truck has a fully enclosed (armored) cab with HVAC and .50cal CROWS-Javelin, something that the US SOFs might need. While the US SOFs do drive armored civilian pickups, those are mainly for hiding, blending in, and VIP protection duty, not actually a military operations truck like the photos shown here, and definitely don’t have a RWS on the cab.
Google says that this truck will fit internally in a MH/CH-47, just like the Infantry Squad Vehicle.
