Wish List of New Modern Kits for 2021- your top 5?

The bottom line is that most of the items in these wish lists are just not economically feasible in styrene. The cost of tooling, instructions, box art, etc. are just too high for the number of sales. Traditional cast resin and 3D printed resin kits can be developed at a fraction of the cost. We can have a decent kit at a high but still affordable cost.

Working with resin and 3D printed kits is certainly more challenging; but, if you want obscure subjects that is the route one has to take. With each kit completed you pick up new skills and become more comfortable working with the material and dealing with primitive or in some cases no instructions. In the past year, I’ve completed 8 resin and 3D printed kits and have 3 more 3D printed kits on the bench. I have to take a break every now and then and do a styrene kit as a palette cleanser. But, I am moving models of obscure subjects into my display case instead of waiting and hoping that a big company will create a styrene kit of the subjects that hold my interest.

anything armor, really. I’m an armor guy for sure.
Cheers!

Yes, you’re right tauylorrl, but this is a WISH list, not a FEASIBLE list.

Im gonna add a M1A1 with SCWS to the list too, or just a SCWS itself as aftermarket addon

Yeah, 1/35 USMC M1A1 with Stabilized Commander’s Weapon Station (SCWS) or even resin SCWS is over-due. However, I doubt that companies are going to make one - especially now after the USMC has phased out all Abramses from their units.

My top five:
1- Roland on AMX-30
2- Crotale
3- Dutch Fennek AA
4- Sidam
5- Praga

Not really “modern”, but needed. The truck mounted Honest John rocket launcher is really needed. The ten ton chassis leads you into a ten ton wrecker and bigger dump trucks and so on. Another (this is really modern) is for somebody to do a Hemet Fitter! I’ve only seen one, and it’s a detailer’s nightmare! An M577 with a full interior would also be very nice.

I agree with you, Gary that an M577 is loooong overdue.

Who knows? :slightly_smiling_face:

Or the most famous one of all “Eve of Destruction”.

My “wish list” would be:

XM800T scout vehicle

Both of the XM1 candidates (GM & Chrysler)

General Dynamics Griffin III (including the impressive 3D camo on the demo vehicle)

KF-41 Lynx

XM2001 Crusader

I’ll be happy with these:
T-90M/Proryv-3, M1A3 Abrams, Leopard 2A7DK, Leopard 2PL, and the IDF Pereh no matter who manufactures it…

Imma add that Stryker SHORAD from the other thread to my styrene wish list. I’m sure we’ll see an M1A3 Abrams not long after the real thing is deployed. I’d put the Abrams up there with the Tiger and Panzer IV as really iconic machines and ubiquitous models.

Yes please

The LATV and Oshkosh FMTV 2.5 ton truck so the the suicide doors. Maybe more modern stores for the FMTV? The HEMTT Recovery vehicle and finally a set of the modern communications equipment with the various antennas.
