That camo looks awesome! And yes, we do need access to the engine.

I knew that camo would look cool on the model. Great stuff!

Thanks boys. Not going to lie, I surprised my self with this one. My track record for freehand camo sans references isn’t good. Neither is me spraying anything yellow.

I did end up using all AK and Tamiya paints though. AK:RC Russian Modern Green,AK:RC NATO Brown, Tamiya X-18 Semi Gloss Black and Yellow is roughly 3:2:1 X-8, XF-60 and XF-57.

Spraying Vallejo just isn’t in the cards for me.

@Armorsmith , don’t worry. It’s still yellow. It just isn’t yellow.

@justsendit , alright, open it shall be. I think I can get away with just popping the hinges into the locating holes.

Great 4 tone cam scheme. The yellow acts as a great eye catcher, and draws you away from the vehicle shape. Yes to access to the engine. To nice to hide it away Don :+1:

Small update.

Got all the last of the bits glued on. Or at least fitted. The hinges/supports for the hood are just pressed into their locating holes so I can close it up if I ever need to. Of course by that same logic I shouldn’t have glued the driver door open (after I took the photos), but it’s CA so should just pop out if need be.

Also got all the various lights and lenses fitted. Backing was all done with Molotow chrome and painted with Tamiya clear.

Weathering is going to be fairly minimal as I like the idea of this being the polished up parade vehicle from that photo.

That is a beautiful truck, love the different coloring!!
All that is missing is those guys…

Such an engine is a pity to hide. Open the hood and put the driver in there for repair. He doesn’t even have to paint his face.

Wow Don that truck looks fantastic. That’s just a beautiful camo job. Excellent build all around (kudos on those end caps) and the paint really catches the eye.

Don’t give me too much credit, the front ones are PE, but the exhaust caps are the plastic kit pieces!

I had a look at the other photos too and you’ve really nailed the look direct from the picture. It’s such a strange and interesting camo that it just catches the eye immediately. Very finely picked out detail too- especially the cab, rocket tubes and the engine.

I went through my stash of body parts. I’ve got an old German tank maintenance crew that might fit the bill, but they’d require a fair bit of conversion to get their poses adjusted as they’ve meant to be working on the rear deck of a tank.

I have left the hood open on the shelf though. You’re right about it being a shame to hide.

That an amazing finish Don! The colors are awesome and the dust on the tires looks really natural.

Nice camo Don. It’s really eye catching.
