1/350 Airfix Type 45 HMS Dragon or is it Dauntless...?

here’s the colour call out sheet from Airfix’s instructions, as you can see, there’s no clear view of the aft of the foremast…

This arrived during the masking and definitely lifted my mood… Fits nicely with the Dauntless theme…

Back on track  :crossed_fingers:

Good catch and recovery! Nice attention to detail throughout.

Hi Russelle,

Please email me, when you have the time, so I can write a proper complement. WOW!

Very nice Russ,

Yours is looking a lot better than my build from a few years back.

Cheers, :beers: Si

Friends, time for a mini mid week update

Well that’s the major assemblies ready for shipping aboard :tada: Woohoo!

However I’m thinking that adding the deck marking decals may be next on the agenda!

She is looking smashing Russell! Glad you had a good holiday. I just got back from one myself and hoping the mojo kicks back in because all modelling desire has left the building right now (eyes the hulls on the work bench)

Thanks mate: slowly getting there…

Did you go anywhere exciting for your holidays?

I know the feeling about the lack of mojo-it took me a while to get back into the swing of things when we got back too… :cowboy_hat_face:

Nice! Hawaii, Pearl Harbor is one of those bucket list items I must visit at some point :cowboy_hat_face:

We did Ohau and Maui and it was well worth it. My only regret was that they had closed the boat out to Arizona due to some issue so we were not able to get out to her.

Last I heard, they hadn’t reopened the Arizona Memorial due to damage to the boat ramp.

That is some nice sharp work Russell…Cheers Mark

Not Dauntless but some more good reference of the class as a whole. Plus don’t want to revive my thread without progress.

Nice view, Rory :+1: :slightly_smiling_face:

Be even better if those jets were FAA and not RAF

Couldn’t agree more Russ,

Historically, things have never gone well when the RAF have interfered in naval avialtion.

Cheers, Si

P.S. nice progress on the '45s mainmast.

Hi Mate,

great work on the superstructure! Very smooth recovery from your little mistake with the painting!
Very good to see your glacier on the run again, mine is still stalled for a while…

Cheers

Thank you for the kind words on the main mast, Si :slightly_smiling_face:

Totally agree about the RAF/FAA conflict of interest: how it can possibly be a good idea to not have dedicated FAA fixed wing squadrons for the carriers is beyond the pale! :man_facepalming:

Thank you Jan, for your kind words about the main mast, mate. :slightly_smiling_face: Definitely dodged a “rookie” error there

Not far to go now, at least in terms of plastic parts: only a couple left on the sprues and they’re for the breakwaters and helo’s :innocent:

HMS Dauntless is ready to return to duty after completing the first in class Power Improvement Program, post sea trials.

It’s been six years since she was last on active duty.
