2025 campaign ideas

Excellent ideas. Both of them scoop up a lot of interesting things…

Good ideas - who’s running them?

I never saw a “Scenics” campaign where the modeler builds on a base with all sorts of foliage, and perhaps water effects, rocks, trees, scale animals, etc.

A scale model landscaper, a gardener, a planter, etc. Scale models and figures are totally extra and unnecessary as the focus is on the landscaping materials and scenics. If it sounds too simple, then the campaign timeline can be very short.

I’ve noticed the wargaming category doesn’t get a lot of love. You could include gaming terrain - hills, woods, ruins, fields, water, etc. Just ask that the terrain be a bit more than a piece of cut out felt or green painted foam sheet.

Cheers,

I would enjoy the opportunity to run a campaign in 2025. If Death From Above, Death From Below, and/or a secondary dedicated Science Fiction campaign have enough interest, I can act as event organizer.

My inclination is to run Death From Above and Death From Below at the same time. In combination, they are extremely encompassing. Both can easily accommodate many aircraft, figures, science fiction subjects, ships, and vehicles.

That sounds like a good idea to me.

That looks rather unpleasant in quite a number of ways.

  • Fire Support posing figures = any figure whose primary weapon isn’t a rifle or carbine. Include figures holding machine guns, pistols, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, SHORAD launchers, sniper rifles, Anti-Tank team, radiomen, swords, grenades, submachine guns, etc. Has to show a figure using a secondary weapon, or a weapon that isn’t a 5.56mm-7.62mm rifle or carbine in the hands. Can include Sci-Fi.
  • Fast Attack Vehicles/guntrucks = any softskin that has armament. Can include Sci-Fi.
  • Show the engine/interior = any vehicle or plane with the engine(s) exposed and a car door or an AFV/helicopter/aircraft hatch or more hatches open. Can be as simple as the canopy open or as complex as all hatches posed open
  • Anything Presidential, Royal, or VIP = Presidential limos and Mercedes, Air Force One and other aircraft, Marine One, Secret Service, Prime Ministers, SUVs, police cars as escorts, etc. Can include Sci-Fi like Princess Leia or Darth Vader or the Jedis. Can include fantasy such as Princess Zelda or an elf queen.
  • US/NATO/RIMPAC Allies = Any model depicting a modern-day weapon system from the US, NATO, or Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) nations.
  • Females = Any female figure or bust, but no nudity
  • Wargaming figure and scenes
  • “Knight”…any model with “Knight” such as medieval knight in armor, Knight Rider 2000 (KITT and Michael Knight), Dark Knight (Batman), the US Army’s “Black Knight,” US Navy’s VFA-154 “Black Knights” flying the F/A-18F, Star Wars Jedi Knights, wargaming and fantasy knights, etc.

The 250th U.S. Marine Corps’ birthday is in 2025. How about an, “Anything U.S. Marines” campaign? Can be any kit that depicts the U.S. Marines from land, sea, and air: ground combat and aviation.

One has to decide on if amphibious ships, hovercraft, and landing crafts should be included, or is that the US Navy and should be dismissed?

That would be a Great Campaign.

I would think the Gator Navy would belong with a USN campaign.

just had this idea pop up how about a classic beauty of the 20s 30s 40s build Rolls Royce, Duesenberg’s etc.

or an Indy /F-1 Build I remember wat back in the day there was a large amount of F1 type model kits available.

or even a funny car build kits I’ve found are released by MPC but that’s with just a quick check.

Just some Ideas and again I hope this is in the proper forum.

It would be extremely NOT good not to mark 80 years since the end of World War II.

  • Could have an “Amphibious Assault” campaign to include anything that is non-U.S. Marines (250th Birthday in 2025), but also amphibious from other nations.
  • Monsters campaign
  • “Official Holidays” campaign (any nation, any culture, any belief as long as it’s not illegal and offensive)
  • “Bright and Festive Colors” campaign. (Here is your chance to paint or decal anything in non-military or camouflage colors. Polka-dots, color shifting paint, candy coating paints, neon paints, etc. Must cover most of the model to qualify).
  • “Two-wheel and three-wheel” campaign (bikes, scooters, motorcycles, tricycles, sidecars, rickshaws, etc).
  • Kitbash campaign (Kitbash anything from figures to cars to AFVs to planes, etc. Fantasy and Sci-Fi included).
  • Sports campaign. (Has to be an official sport such as baseball, football, Olympics, Formula 1 racing cars and drivers, etc. Here is your chance to build those kits that are often ignored or not as popular as war machines)
  • Logistics campaign (Bomb carts, APUs, maintenance crews, cargo containers, shipping containers, tactical trucks, military cargo planes, WW2 resupply ships, figures hauling cargo, landing craft, forklifts, etc).
  • Real animals campaign (Any scale, any animal, but not machines name after animals).
  • “Make us laugh diorama campaign” (Nothing vulgar, offensive, or NSFW. Construct a diorama that is funny to make us laugh when seeing it or interpreting the hidden message).
  • “Grail Kit” campaign (Don’t wait any longer…time to build it in 2025! Build and explain one of your rare Grail kits and why you waited so long to build it).
