Looking good. The only comment I will add is that I think there should be a cover/plate on the left side between the radiator and hydraulic fluid tank. That area doesn’t look open.
You want it closed?
I was thinking to leave it open so you can see part of the engine.
Its not really how I want it. I believe there is a panel there on the actual truck. It looks to be removable, but I am not sure. Personally, if I wanted to show off the engine, I would leave one of the top panels open.
Rodger that, I’ll close it up tomorrow.
Question:
Do you know what radio is used in the cabin? Maybe a picture or a point in the right direction?
I’m going to design and put it in the pack, maybe with gps ect.
Also thinking of doing a armored version of the common cabin.
Another view of the same area:

Why is there so much space to the left in these mounts?
Ken
The original SINCGARS ICOM radio was as wide as the mount. The ASIP radios came out around 2002-ish and are half the size of the original, but the Army went with the same mounts to save money, so you have a built-in shelf system to store extra stuff now.
Original SINCGARS ICOM radios.
If you want to save some time, I’ve made a good majority of the SINCGARS radio system. I could share the ASIP file with you if you want to use it.
OK, thanks.
Ken
Thanks, but already I use the same pictures.
And where the Italeri version sits on the platform, there is a engine mount on the Trumpeter kit.
So going to have to adjust or redesign for that, when I buy a Trumpeter kit later on.
Typical…
A little bit more patience guys.
Is the radio mount supposed to be in some type of box? I have never seen one like that in any US military vehicle. Usually, the mount (w/mounting tray) sits on whatever surface they are mounted to with no box-like surround.
OK, interesting. I have never seen that set-up.
Lol, I didn’t even know the interior of the A4 where so different compared to the early versions.
