Yeah, I might have been wrong. (Well, I was wrong.) Regardless, still wish to have one
AA had truly great and atractive subjects in catalogue and when they started in the business I was inmediately hooked to their kits. But I quit buying their kits long time ago when they turned to that awful green, poor resin, and the attention to quality casting in both resin and metal parts went down IMHO. Yes, they were allways keen to replace badly-produced parts, but when most of the parts in a beloved kit had issues in a way or another, thought to put my money in other brands. Sad to know they are closing, but age takes its toll and with both market and production evolving so deeply day by day itās all logical.
Where men cried.
I have to say Iāve been ordering over the last 5 years and their resin has always been the pale grey/yellowy stuff, and very good itās been too.
I also note that they have adapted to the market in that when, almost inevitably, an injected kit has come out (of something they had produced) they almost overnight began making accessories or conversion kits for that very product; I thought that showed great initiative.
I thought their range was imaginative too; who else does a 1:35 Abbot SP Gun, and where am I going to find a Vixen CVR(W) if not through AA? Perhaps a couple of niche choices I admit(!)
I shall be very sorry to see them go.
Just a heads up folks: their site is closed for ordering at the moment - until 6 Sep. It is however, open for browsing.
Obviously a fair bit of panic buying, and Iām about to join the queue!
Hey!
Keep your grubby hands off the models that I want to buy.
Placed an order £952 yesterday. The plain Foden DROPS was already gone so I took the Operation Herrick configuration instead. Still many kits that I would like to get but I had to get the most important ones first.
Thats a name I havenāt heard that name is a while I was running around Afghanistan in the Brits area during OP Herrick
Youāre more than welcome to the DROPS, itās the Abbot I need to persuade them to re-visit(!)
Youāre not getting mine
. Wish I had that, and could spend that at the moment.
Well thatās the warehouse emptied!
I must have a look at their site this weekend to sort my own shopping listā¦

Just spending Ā£12000 so far, on remodeling the funeral parlour, too rooms for short term letās, for professionals/ Labours.
luckily got my very modest order in a few days sago
CET ordered and confirmed last Sundayā:+1:
A shame. Every year or two Iād place a big order. Iāve got most of what I need, but Iām sure I could find other items I canāt live without, More like canāt die without - if I keep adding to the stash God will not let me die until most of itās done.
Thatās my reasoning for starting a new kit when the previous one is only half-done! Iām on course to reach a thousandā¦
So, who picked up Fruiel?
