Ryan’s right again. Any truck that didn’t have a winch had tow hooks in the front; any truck that didn’t have a towing pintle had hooks in the rear.
The print was approved. One thing I noticed and will probably have to email them is the quantity of some prints is limited. I can do many CCKW hooks but only one Studebaker hooks or spare tire carrier. Is there a setting to your knowledge that you can limit?
Um no - why would they want to limit the number you can buy? I’ll see what I can learn but hopefully it’s just a hiccup in the system…
I went to the website (without logging in as a vendor) to try putting products in my cart and had no trouble adding multiples. You need to put it in the cart first, and then increase the number. So I’m no nearer to understanding the issue.
Another addition to the 2.5 ton truck tire chain drawer (post 234, above): ICM’s Studebakers, too, have that part under their cargo load beds, part E6.
Hi guys, just realise I totally missed this thread. I took my time to read it all; what a source for Ally soft skin.
I would like starting contributing with one of the most challenging kit of my past; the Diamond wrecker from Mirror:
That is a beautifully done model of a very tough kit.
A truly great model from a really tricky kit!
Good looking build, congrats.
Tough and tricky well describe the kit, it took me seven years with several breaks. I bought it as soon as Libor from Mirror (now Thunder) because a Diamond in plastic was my daydream since ever. I am waiting for a Ward La France…
More recently and as a proof of my soft spot for the family I tried this:
When a friend of mine offered me a deal I couldn’t say no. Not in Ally service but surely from the era…
The experiment also involved trying to depict a bunch of vehicles without the “parking lot” sensation.
Don’t know if it came off but it was fun…
Decided to also mess around with another Tamiya CCKW as a Marine cargo truck. Doyle books shows Marine open cabs on page 477, 494 and 502. Was thinking an open cab (enclosed) to use up the parts from the accessory set. All are little different as one had white head lights, painted a dark green with snow chains and the last in Korea. The main I have run into is was robbing Peter to pay Paul and the roosters have come home to nest. I am missing an exhaust and hood. I thought the resin hood would work but it doesn’t have the body part also. I need to find a cheap parts kit. Anyway here is where that is at.
Didn’t know where to post this one…
U.S. Navy IHC M-3-4 1.5 ton fuel trucks refueling B-24’s from the 38th BS 30th Bomb Group on Tarawa
H.P.
My “handed” Tow Hooks from 3Dptrain for CCKW and Studebaker have arrived!
See what they look like on my Studer fuel tank truck:
Product quality and service equally good, strongly recommended, presumably also useful on ICM’s Chevrolet 4x4.
To @Steo77 and group: this past Sunday Libor has announced, via e-mail, pre-orders for the Ward LaFrance wrecker, with “units arriving in mid-January”. He also announced an add-on of 3D-printed drive-chain parts. Pre-order before 12/20, get the add-on free as well as discounted price etc. All in around €74 iirc.
And btw, your build of the Diamond T is just outstanding. Thanks for sharing.

Got it! I’ve just bought some goodies I’ll have to decide quickly!! Thanks for posting
Hi folks and a Merry Xmas to everyone.
To feed this thread I decided to dredge up from the past a Chevy 7113 that I modelled some years ago. I bought the full kit (two separate kits) from Master Production. It was discounted from a closing French dealer and I couldn’t say no.
Basically OOB, it turned out a well cast resin bit from the cottage industry. Enjoy and have a nice festivity.
Great work, how did you do the window glazing?
Great work Stefano! Those MP kits are hard to find here in the UK, but at least now we can convert a MiniArt or ICM truck to make the tractor - the trailer would need scratch-building. (I’ve got an incomplete conversion of an Italeri truck on the Shelf of Shame that needs finishing…)
Thanks Jon,
I have a small stock of acetate clear film that I spare from packaging whenever I found it and I use it to cut to shape for windows.
I adapted a PE frame to the resin part of the kit so that I made a three-layer sandwich.
