@Tank_1812, yup, I weighed them myself today, just bit under 7 lbs boxed weight, so it’s rounded upwards for shipping cost purposes.

@PhantomMedic, yeah, as of right now, a 577 or any other variant will be a AM conversion or follow on kit…

@Tojo72, Tony, yes, I’ll be doing one, but I want to do an A2 from my old battalion in Panama, 4/6 Infantry. So I’ll need to do some scratch work or cross my fingers that an A2 follow on kit or AM conversion comes out…

H&S Company 3rd Tank Battalion, Quang Tri Province RVN 1969. One of 6 total APC used by Marine during a 6 month time period.

H&S folks are the admin types at HQ but in the Marines, ‘Every Marine is a Rifleman’. So they were sent out on patrols in M113’s. This is one of many examples in Marine Corps history and why every Joe and Sally go to MCT after boot camp that is not a grunt and non grunt fleet units will practice at least once a year to reinforce it.

Yes, our local AMPS boss is a retired USMC Col., and tries to concentrate on building only USMC subjects. Since the Marines used them, he was able to fit this kit into his guidelines. He is building the test kit for Andy. I believe that it’s finished now.

I like the way he thinks, done the same with my 1/16 kits. Trying to keep the 1/16 stash small as the boxes are so large.

Yup, they are big boxes! This will likely be the only 1:16 kit that I ever get. Just due to my personal connection with the type.

My impulse M113 purchase will be here tomorrow. I don’t have room for any more boxes in my stash area. Time to really start cranking out finished products.

Build the M113 first and then store kits in that box so they are not loose and unsecured.

Seems mine will arrive early when the wife will not be at work along with her one of her x-mas gifts. Doh!

My wife has never complained about my kits. This box being as big as it is, will just cause a placement issue. Also, I will be wrapping it and putting it under the tree. I always get myself a gift, since no one else does anymore (being an adult and a parent has drawbacks). This years gift to me from me, 1/16 M113.

Every wife has a limit, be it 15 kits or a hobby store worth, there is limit and when you reach that point.

Yes! My stash reached 600 kits and 3\4 of the basement, and my wife declared “No more kits!” Since I value my marriage and really have more than I can build, I haven’t made a kit purchase in 8 months.
Secret: The Magic Factory M10 Booker is on it’s way to a model club buddy’s house and I will pick it up in January while I’m there and smuggle it in to the basement through the garage.
