On Andy’s M10/achilles kits they were seperate parts so we will have to wait and see.
OK, M113 footman loops being quite different from WWII version - disc bases versus rod bases - will be interesting to see how they’ve done it?

This causes a dilemma. I have the Verlinden M-113 in 120mm. I intended to make that the centerpiece of a diorama that has long been in the works.
Do I stick with that one, or sell it and buy this one? I wonder how the two will stack up in terms of scale.
I do really need an AFV crewman figure. Unfortunately they got this one mostly wrong in my opinion. They gave him a USMC flak vest and for some reason he’s wearing a pair of WWII style boondocker boots rather than jungle boots.
If SOL Models (or anybody) comes out with an M901 ITV turret for it, I’m doomed, I’ll have to get one. Until then I will resist.
LOL! In 1/16, it’s going to be quite big so I don’t think 3D printers will touch it so easily unless the ROI is there. If SOL comes out with one, the price tag is going to be astronomical.
Suffice to say, I anticipate I will be getting a lot of requests for modern accessories and add-ons for M113 in 1/16.
I can definitely see that. I’ll start with an M113A3 conversion set; specially the interior. Maybe a Fitter conversion set? Or a Full Toga Armor to convert it into an IDF M113…
This would have to do for now. If I find it in the Verlinden stash I’ll post. And for less than $350.00.
Very REAR kit.
Jason Studio posted some close-up photos of the figure included in the 1/16 M113A1 kit:
As Travis and Jim O’Malley pointed out:
“He’s wearing a USMC flak vest instead of M52 or a M69 flak vest. Also, he should be wearing jungle boots or if early war, black leather combat boots, not the boots that look like WW2 boondockers.”
Works better for me.
I wonder about at least about the top half if it isn’t a Marine it’s modeled after. At least the rendering has the sleeves rolled and not the Army pulled style/camo out. When did the Army start with the pulled style/camo out sleeves? Looks like in the last few years they are authorized to roll sleeves.
Actually some 1/16th M113 3D bits have been available for years - there have been a couple of different RC models available in Germany, even Hooben has one - though for me that’s barge pole territory.
Also, being RC, cost is a serious factor

This makes me want someone to do a proper M163A1 Vulcan conversion. The Hobby Fan conversion is impossible to find anymore and in 1/16 it would be incredible.
Nobody wants to do a plain vanilla 113! Everybody’s Jonesing for a variant.
I intend to get the M113 as is for sure. There are a lot of interesting subjects for a basic 113, but having build options through conversions means they will sell more of the base kits hopefully and maybe even expand it into a line of variants.
I’ve looked at that conversion but the rear ammo storage is incorrect at least for an M163A!, maybe it’s correct for the earliest versions. At any rate that is the biggest thing that keeps me from purchasing that conversion.
I have the set. It includes the early ammo storage as shown and the later A1 ammo box. It can be built as either an early or late version.
A1 box is circled in red.
Directions showing the option for one or the other.
Well I stand corrected. Will definitely look at getting this. Much appreciated.
