I will be going, building something because it’s there, in my stash.

Ah, found it. I found this kit for $2.00 at the Seattle IPMS show last year. The likelihood of a campaign for this was slim but yet here we are. I ordered a reference book with somewhat helpful photos. I will store this under my pillow until start time, I found a crew for this but 6 HO figures for a steam engine runs twenty something dollars.

It is going to be very enjoyable watching you get that one built Greg.

I hope so Mike!

I mean, what the heck, 'cause it’s there, right?

Seriously looking forward to seeing what you have, in campaign or “on the side.”

Any medium is allowed, as long as there is assembly required, as per the rules above:
”Any subject, any scale, any genre, etc - the only stipulation is that the kit must require assembly - there must be some effort in the actual build as well as painting, just like there is some effort needed in a mountain ascent.”

Thanks!!! yep its just a big kit you print all the parts and assemble as you will see after it starts. i will ensure i get everything in there for ya guys slicing to printing to assembly

Man, I have enough going on already. But I do have at least a couple of kits that would qualify (the tough part is the “unstarted” rule. Those I don’t have very many of.) and I really would like to build. Great idea!

We shall see…

Xabungle? Looked that up on YouTube. 1982 so post Gundam and concurrent with Macross. Found all 50 episodes with English subtitles. May give it a try.

Are you serious about building that? Every so often I go looking for robot models from that era. I almost bought a few from Crusher Joe.

These are my two front-runners right now:

Got some extra goodies for this one.

Or:

This one doesn’t NEED any extra goodies, though I am planning to get some paint for it.

Both have some drool on them, but are unstarted. Decisions, decisions…

I’m looking forward to seeing either of these done Michael. Welcome aboard.

Pick the one with the most drool on it …

I’m in, but with what is the question. In the spirit of the build I want to build something I’m trepidatious about. My first thought would be the Hasegawa 1/700 Furutaka with the Flyhawk upgrade set containing 58 frets of PE (slight exaggeration). I have been thinking about scrathbuilding a 1/35 Civil War Ironclad for years so that may be an option. Maybe randomly pick a set of plans and get after it. I have plan sets for 15 or so, Verlinden and Cottage Industries kits to arm it with, and enough accumulated materials but I don’t know where I’d put it after it’s finished. Or I could punt and build a normal kit. Need to go through inventory and mull this over.

Wow, that sure is an impressive list of options.

You could go down the ahistorical route and use some of what you’ve accumulated to build a steampunk variant of your own devising… A Rendel Flatiron might be a source of inspiration.
