Yeah I think it was easier doing it that way
And I thought doing ALL the decals on an F-4 Phantom was bad !! ![]()
Drivers hatch area and forward upper glacis assembly is done …..
No real issues with it, and I found out where some of the other PE bits went.
And fitted to the hull …. Clamps are due to there being a very slight kink in the top plate, but it fits fine now ….
Engine decks next ![]()
Engine decks done and a few more bits of PE added.
And fitted to the hull. Nice and straightforward and fits great .
Some great ideas and builds going on here, congratulations to everyone, I especially Alex’s RAM, very nice paint job,![]()
.
John, is it still okay to join in, and do figures qualify as a kit build?

I’ve started this kit for the Convoy campaign:
My intention is to use it for the Build a Photo campaign to create this:
Or one of these….
Yeap, absolutely fine G. … What’s the figure ?
And welcome Bert @bwilt … any of those ideas will be great to see brought to life… look forward to seeing what you decide on ![]()
Thanks John, it’s the following image that I found when looking for ideas for my WW1 British trench dio’.
It’s apparently a well known image of British Soldiers occupying a German trench in July of 1916 during the Battle of the Somme.
It’s interesting as it’s part of a process known as “Reversing a trench” i.e. immediately transforming a captured enemy frontline (which faced the wrong way) into a defensive position against the original owners. This involved intense manual labour, often under fire, and was necessary to prevent a successful counterattack.
B&W image…
Colourized image…
There are at least four sleeping figures, plus the one on overwatch duty.
The difficulty is going to be scaling it up from a two-dimensional image, especially the front-to-back depth of the trench. I’m thinking as far as the cluttered trench floor just beyond the ‘bridge/shelter’.

Sounds like plan mate, and some nice colour with the grass etc ![]()
How about this photo? It features the exact vehicle and trailer for your kit—plus a US Army M109. You don’t see that very often.

Another great option![]()
But it’s not helping me to narrow the amount of options down ![]()
