I use a mix of AK Streaking Grime and Winter streaking grime and speckle it over the seats. Then I gently blend using a filbert brush. For canvas I find this method gives the nicest effect of visual variety instead of trying to paint fake distressing
Looking at my ref image of the flying T90, I realised it didn’t have the external fuel drums or curved mounts fitted….. cutting time ![]()
I got all the parts needed for the fuel tank plate then got to work on the drum brackets. Nice and straightforward, just sliced off the complete curved mounts and the 4 bolts .. and replaced them with MENG bolt heads.
And added the anti ditching log securing mounts in PE. Just need to let them cure and I will bend them round the log to get the correct shape .
Will get a few more bits done tomorrow….
That’s all looking really nice Bert ….be nice watching this get built up ![]()
Glad it’s not only me, outside model making.
Gawd; the carpet monster is enough of a challenge for me, never mind a whole lawn!
Who was the rider - Evil Kneevil? I assume the car was a wedge-fronted sports car to get such “air” for the bike…
How much maple syrup do you need to be hopped up on do that?
The article reports the car as a “sedan”. I haven’t seen any other details yet, but yes, I assumed the same.
Edit: I just looked at the second photo again. If you look across the front window and through the passenger compartment of the front police SUV (Unit 919) you can see a sedan with a crease in it’s hood(?). Go figure.
Nice detailing with the pipework Bert ….. things like that make a big difference ![]()
Leave it as it is Bert …. looks really good ![]()
Thanks!
Added some more old bits of metal…
And as the engine room is completely empty bit can be lookedinto from the rear, I added a white piece of plastic that was ‘pimped’ with some old bits of plastic…
All that’s looking great Bert, it really changes the appearance of it all ![]()
Thanks!
Got the Faun nearly ready for primer..
And think I’ll use the (black) original wheels instead of the 3d set that I bought….
Great progress, Bert! The 3D parts do not really look better than kit parts. Sometimes good old styrene is still better ![]()
