Build a Photo 3

I’m thinking of this. I think I have some miniart winter tank crew who could be pressed into service. I’m not an expert on the isu-152. I’m hoping the Tamiya kit would work?

Just been measuring up the plinth for my monument, and working out how to divide up the Tamiya brick walls to do it! Cutting to commence this afternoon…

Thanks Matt, appreciated mate …

Good idea Tom @barkingdigger for using the tamiya brick work :+1:

And that looks like a plan Ryan @Tank_1812 :+1:

I will do a bit more on the universal carrier, then start cutting some plastic here.

Found everything the Tamiya Kubelwagen kit, the maintenance set and Tamiya Jeep tires.

Not sure what to do about the figures. One problem at a time.

I was delighted to find the miniart winter tank crew sprue intact. I was afraid I might have raided it for something else. Now to get my hands on the isu-152.

Sat down and got to work on the Ram. Never would have imaged M3 bogies being worse to assemble than M4 bogies. Was worried about the fit of the hull so I just got it all assembled.

A previous build, inspired by a photo was done in early 2023. It’s in 1/72 scale, quite early in my restarted modeling “career”

Well the Ram build is done, waiting on replacement WE210 tracks from Quick Track. This was a weirdly simple build except for the front light guards

Blimey Alex @Youngun … thats fast !! and a great looking wagon …. nicely done … it has some nice detailing with your additions and the PE.

@Johnnych01 it was a relatively straight forward build and I think took about 5 hours an hour of which was consumed by the head light guards.

So I’m looking at turned metal barrels from Aber. They make an ML-20S for the isu-152 and an ML-20S for the su-152. They look to be a little different. Looking at pics online, I’m not sure I see what the difference is? Anybody have any insight on that?

No idea mate ….. try Google for images of both tanks and try and compare barrels from those source images ? World War photos is another possible place to look ?
