Thanks chaps ![]()
Oww… that looks like a close call for the occupants!
Still haven’t decided if I’ll enter this, (I’ve too many things on the burner now) but this is something I’ve always wanted to do…
Returning from the Doolittle Raid, steaming east, 25kts, Carriers 700 miles to the west having launched the raiders, returning at 30 kts… (taken from the USS Cimarron)
Capturing a moment in time…
That would look cool …… & Peter @petbat that would be a cool dio but a lot to do …. great picture though
Yo John, I’ve read the rules & understand they may be more to come during staging. I’m doing a project (“Sturmy weather”) which will replicate a period photo as exactly as possible - come March 1st I’ll be around 75% finished. Would that kinda sorta qualify? Rather than post a bunch of already-built photos I’d just post a single link to my existing thread. And because it’s not fully in the spirit of this GB I wouldn’t expect a badge, maybe just an M.I.D.? ![]()
Mate I think it will be fine as long as you are happy about the no award ?? There will be as you mentioned, a very substantial M.I.D as I’m sure it will be a stunning build …. And I am sure it will be a very welcome addition which people here will enjoy watching it develop ….![]()
Count me in for this one. Going to depict a Canadian Ram being transported by an M19 somewhere in England 1942. Should be able to finish the tractor and tank in a year lol
Thanks mate, OK well let’s not Jonah it
…might turn out to be a D.I.M.(Disaster in Modelmaking)![]()
Excellent choice Alex , and glad you’re joining in here with it …. Great addition ![]()
So, saw this and thought… why not. Different, out of my comfort zone ( might fit in with another campaign im toying with as well), and there’s Google AI info on it
This image depicts an Italian Fiat CR.42 Falco biplane fighter that was forced to land during the Battle of Britain in World War II.
-
The aircraft shown is a Fiat CR.42 Falco from the 95th Squadron, 18th Group, which was part of the Italian Air Corp (Corpo Aereo Italiano).
-
It was forced to land on a beach near the Orfordness lighthouse in England on November 11, 1940, after being damaged in combat.
-
The pilot of this specific aircraft was Sergente Pietro Salvadori, who survived the incident.
-
This model was a nimble, lightly armed biplane that was largely outclassed by contemporary British fighters like the Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire.
That’s actually pretty cool and a unique part of the BoB …..I didn’t even know the Italians were involved like that …. Would be a great addition to the campaign ![]()
Never knew Italians were active during the BoB!
Active? Yes. Effective? Not so much…
that’s a great subject!
I bet quite a lot of people have no idea about their participation …..
Only a few hours until we are live …… Matt @SSGToms could you do the honours mate and make us live on the 1st please ….. appreciated ![]()
Still need to decide on what to do.
Well, you must have snap somewhere Frank; the figure is Dutch (Syllys’s Models) but wouldn’t take much converting(!)
Didn’t take any of myself, around that time, only had a disc camera, 15 picks and done.
Was never one for posing.( He says being a Bn Drummer).
