Off to a good start. Those wheels will not work on an M984A2, not one set anyways. On the M977A2, the rear and front wheels are different, with the rear wheels having a deeper inset. On the M984A2, the front and rear wheels are the same, both with a shallow inset. You would need two sets of the Legend wheels and to only use the front sets from each.

Same wheels front and rear.

Correction: All 8 wheels are the same as the front on the M977, shallow.

Oh well it looks like this build isn’t going to be 100% quite accurate.
I checked the Legend wheels against the kit wheels and they are exactly the same , 4 Deep and 4 more shallow.
I either use the kit wheels or the Legend wheels anyway it comes out the same.
I could use the Kit rear wheels and the Legend rear wheels but I don’t think it would look quite right.

Donald, its always a pleasure to follow your builds. I’ve scrapped out the wrecker portion of this kit, if you find you need some parts. I’m using the cab/frame/drive train & material handling crane, making a tractor for the I Love Kit Pershing. (Scrapped out it’s M-1001 MAN tractor.) Does anybody know the length of the M983 Tractor frame rails vs the M984 wrecker frame?. I believe the tractor is shorter? Any advice appreciated.
Watching your build, always marvel at yours (and others) timely hints. Thanks, Larry.

The 984 was a technical challenge, but a much easier build than using the Hobby Fan resin conversion kit for the Italeri HEMMT. THAT was painful, The photo shows the Hobby Fan conversion in front, with the Trumpeter kit in the middle. The TFFT in the back was included as a HEMMT-family photo. Lacking the fueler also parked in my display case.

I’m working on the Cabin area , starting with the seats.
The instructions aren’t clear where every thing goes.
This is what I have figured out so-far.
#1 Glue parts J17 and J18 together and let them set up.
#2 Glue J20 to the tops of J17/J18
#3 Install J23 as shown in the following pics.
#4 I’m not shure where rod J35 goes so I left it off can’t see it anyway.
#5 Glue J9 and J19 together and install on top of frame.
Here are the pics. (camera is acting up)
