CVR(T) Striker - C Sqn HCR

Thanks guys for continuing to look in and your kind words, always nice to see you here. :+1::+1:

Hi John,

Your build was already looking amazing prior to priming and painting, but now it has its ā€˜green-sheen’ it’s starting to really zing as a build, simply stunning, :+1: :slightly_smiling_face:.

Cheers,,

Thanks G, its in the last stages now … then it will be onto the Mk 10 Chieftain Stillbrew … Only thing I will have to sus out is the small black C Sqn Tac signs for the Striker, I only have the Accurate Armour ones in yellow, and I really dont want to have to buy the black set just for 2 circles lol…

Somebody in the Modern British Armour Sig group on Facebook might have some spare tac signs

Have you tried printing your own? I printed the tac/callsigns, UNPF numbers, number plates and LD cap badge for my UN Scimitar to match my C/S. I used white decal paper for the number plates so the white letters show and clear for everything else. Fairly simple to do, just a bit of trial and error to get the size right and that’s just printing a series of decals at differing sizes on normal paper and then printing the relevant one on the decal paper. I got my decal paper off E-bay.

and what they look like on, you can see the XVIII and callsigns on the pictures I posted earlier in your thread.

Thanks Paul, Sadly not on facebook … I have always steered well away from it :+1:

A couple of the little bits I like… It may not seem like much but I do love the little SAG mounts. Especially this one as it had broken off when I got the kit.

Also the heat shield mounted on the front of the air bottle bin… If I hadn’t of added it… It would of bugged me lol

And close up of the top of the hull/cupola

I have also got all the wheels on now, however I have noticed that some touch up paint is required in a few areas, so will do that tomorrow.

Enjoy and stay safe.

It’s looking really good there Johnny, the small details make all the difference. As you say the folks who haven’t crewed them wouldn’t know but it would bug the rest of us. Look forward to seeing the detail painting.

Great details. The only good detail coverage I’ve found is of the Belgian Striker and it’s a little bit different. What is SAG?

Thanks guys @SSGToms , @Maximus8425 , @petbat & @ptruhe .

Paul, the SAG is the sight Alignment Gauge, with the launch bin raised and the SAG fitted it basically allows you level and as the name says, align the remote sighting and firing unit to the main firing system so you can fire the missiles with the vehicle in complete cover from view.

Hi John,

Outstanding, the attention to detail is second to none, and can only come from someone with an intimate knowledge of their subject, thoroughly enjoying following your build, :+1: :slightly_smiling_face:.

Cheers G, I haven’t had much time on it recently what with work, other kits going on… I will get some proper time on it over the weekend hopefully.

Sods law has struck lol … Was just about to order the CVRT tow ropes and the new stowage set from Scorpion Miniature Models and the ropes are out of stock … Damn it

Hi Johnny
Try going direct to Thatchweave - Thachweave Products Page - they custom made me a set in 1/16th, really nice.

I have emailed SMM to see if they have a timeframe on getting them. I looked at the thatchweave site and they have the tow ropes there… But say if you want them to order through SMM… Strange…

Hi John
I think Thatchweave make them, possibly have an exclusive deal with SMM on sales. Try their contact email at bottom of page.
