Michael,
What a great build this is going to be. The engine really looks outstanding, and even more so fitted to the chassis.
BTW, my family for several generations have been loyal Dewar’s White Label Scotch drinkers. And even I was back in the days when i actually drank.
Joel
Thanks Joel. Given there are several options for advertising I will go with Dewar’s.
cheers

@cosimodo, Hi Michael, wow, that engine looks beautiful! Nice work! I think it’s safe to assume you are not drinking and model building!
or, if you are, your constitution is much stronger than mine is!
Cheers
Nick
That is looking awesoome Richard, your efforts on the conversion have paid off beautifully! The lines and proportions of the body work, with that big 8-pot up front, this is killer!
Cheers, D
I put a couple of hours into the BMF last night, happy with the results.
Getting close now.
Cheers, D
Richard,
Oh Wow!! I 2nd everything that D said, plus some. This is turning out to be a true epic build.
joel
D,
I’d say that you nailed that DMF. Looks fantastic.
joel
Front bumper and headlights secured last night.
The rear bumper is a bit more troublesome, contact points with the body and chassis are flimsy
Cheers, D
Looking great D.
Andy
Nomad is indeed looking great Damian. That chrome heavy end is stunning.
cheers
Michael
The omnibus continues. I haven’t built a Miniart kit before, there is a lot of detail for a 1/35 scale kit, especially for the drive train and linkages. Fiddly but the outcome is pretty good.
The radiator and firewall - made of wood so not sure about that.
And of course, it’s a bus so I just couldn’t resist a test fit - upper deck to come
cheers
Michael
@cosimodo beautiful detail work on this build mate, looks really sharp!
I got the rear bumper and tail lights installed today, using AK Ultra Glue which is a strong white glue, to give me some time to get things lined up and also provide some gap filling.
Some of the chrome has been chipped and worn away from adjustments and handling, so I have some touching up to do.
Cheers, D
D,
your Nomad is really looking good. I can already visualize it parked on your display shelf.
Joel
Michael,
I’m just blown away at the amount of level of detail in this kit, especially since it’s in the traditional armor scale of 1/35. I enlarged the engine top and bottom pics to full screen (thanks to the new software here, it’s just a click away), and the details are just amazing. Equally amazing is the overall paint you achieved with your choice of Metallics, as that engine just pops big time.
Joel
D,
just got down to your next post on the install of the rear bumper. Really came out looking dead on level and perfect. But from what I can remember about those massive chrome bumpers of the 50-60s outside of the top of the line for each manufacture, one could very easily find more somewhat out of wack, then perfect from corner to corner. Perhaps that had more to do with the fact that two guys manually installed them as their daily/all day long assembly line job.
Back in those days, my Dad always said never to buy a car that was built on either a Monday (high sick rate from weekend partying, and Friday’s from guys rushing to finish up and get a head start on the weekend’s fun time.
