Love the meme…
Okay, a few guys still in the the mix. Let’s extend to the end of this month.
M the build is open to any scale, so go for it.
Nice to see more guys interested here.
My entry into LUV’n
The first thing that happened was that an end of the frame rail broke and disappeared (but it can be fixed especially since it is not a real visible part)
I glued the frames to the lower body and glued in part 1A to act as a support for my repair as the frame broke at the indent for that part. Repair to be made when the glue has cured
One of the spring assemblies also broke while being removed from the tree but I did find the part I dropped.
I have heard Roden plastic is quite brittle. Might be better to use a razor saw to cut the parts away from the sprue, then cut off the excess.
Because the front portion of the frame rail won’t really be visible I extended it with a piece of white square rod, glued the spring to it and then painted the whole assembly black
There was a lot of flash on the parts and this is an example
When glued together there was a TRENCH between the hood halves
All the parts are off the trees and ready to paint
Kissed the Aussie tarmac a few hours ago. Will be back at the ATMP soon.
the parts painted
The first set of wheels and exhaust installed
the second set installed and the folded roof assembled
the headlamps painted and the clear lenses installed
Looking good Steviecee.
Recommenced the last few details on the ATMP, hopefully finish assembly today and paint soon after.
And the Vauxhall is done. I would not recomend this kit because it’s brittle parts which broke while being cut off the tree and while being cleaned up, poor fitting parts with no real locating points, crude details and flash. I have built other Roden kits and not had those problems.
And a very nice job you did on it as well.
Well, dropped the ATMP today after painting it… it is in the repair shop as we speak. I’ll have to repair a few breaks and retouch the paint and post pics. It will not be weathered or have any stowage, but at least it will be finished enough.
thanks

@shaky962
Did you guys finish but not post pics? Or did I miss them?
No I never got very far with mine. It’s in the to-do pile this year.
Fun to see everyone else’s builds finished.
Flame out…
Despite the extra month I still didn’t start anything; I spent the time looking at ALL THREE components of what once would have been a weekend build. I hope you will one day run a follow-up campaign I will also fail to participate in…
Regards,
M
It was a fun campaign built, thank you for this good idea !
I managed to get two Mutts built, so I’m pretty happy with myself.
Thanks for setting up the build.
Okay everyone, the request for award allocation has been sent.
I am chuffed that so many of you joined and completed the build. A lot of sensational builds here, you should all be proud of what you achieved.
It was a fun one to follow, but that is due to all of you contributing. Given the amount of guys that were interested here, I am contemplating opening up a thread to see if there is interest in a Medium Utility Vehicle campaign (‘The MUVver of all builds’, so to speak) to start in the last half of this year. Look out for that one, if it tickles your fancy too.
Medium Utility Vehicles…
Would the vehicles that were disqualified at the start of this build off count now?
Some yes. My thought is running a campaign for medium to heavy utilitarian vehicles. Non-armoured or maybe include ‘lightly’ armoured too. I guess, things like Hummers, Tigr, Steyr 1500, Horch 1a, MRAP, Husky, DUKW, etc. Maybe include Dodge WC vehicles, etc. The tin tacks can be sorted at some time down the track.
