Doug, if I extend the end date by one month will it help? Anyone else out there close to finish but needs more time?
Did this get extended or closed I’m just trying to track it.
Hi Michael, Yes it has been extended for 1 month for all stragglers (like me).
Awesome thank you for the update.
good afternoon when will this campaign be finished and have the badge handed out.
Okay everyone - times up. I was not able to finish myself….. weather here was too hot and humid to paint, and I needed to finish the interior bits before I could move on.
I never got around to making an award for this one, a task for the next couple of days. Once I’ve done that, I’ll post a couple of options for a vote by the guys that actually finished (I’ll post up the names too). Then I’ll send a request for the awards to be allocated.
it has been a tad sweaty in Qld. just had a massive storm so hopefully its cooled down a bit now
Rain here, but the moisture is not the best for spray painting outside… that said, I did get some paint down over the past few days.
Thanks everyone that participated. It was great seeing all these models come together.
I have the finishers as:
Terminator
bwilt
Johnnych01
Youngun
TacFireGuru
BootsDMS
deerstalker36
Pawel
Denimo
Btwosan
brekinapez
If I have missed anyone, please let me know.
@Brantwoodboy- Michael did you finish?
As to the award, I have racked my brain trying to get something that fits the theme and is recognisable. All attemts to make a badge showing something towed or attached just becomes a blurry blob…
Best I have come up with so far is this:
If anyone has some ideas, let me know.
I’ll wait a few days then request the medal be awarded if no-one has a better idea.
Cheers
looks good to me
Looks fine but what about pic of a 5th wheel, taken from behind and above?
Just a thought.
Sure did I think I was one of the first and its one of the only kits i finished last year
No problem. I’ll add you to the list. Cheers
Den, tried the fifth wheel but could not get one I liked. Thanks for the idea though.
Everyone, I have sent the PM requesting for you to get receive the award. It may take some time as Jim has a life outside the site too!
Michael you are in the list too.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, while having been vocal when the campaign was proposed I have ended up not as merely a non-finisher but a non-starter. When it was agreed chariots were eligible I thought I was safe, as I had around a dozen-and-a-half unbuilt in various scales, both historical and fantasy. My initial concept was for Achilles dragging the body of Hector around the walls of Troy but I appear to have mislaid my Mycenaeans, both 28mm and 15mm. Despite the stash, I then ordered a Celtic chariot to depict Boudicca Triumphant, it arrived before the end of 2024, but the package wasn’t opened until last Boxing Day, then hurriedly re-closed. In the interim my thoughts had drifted in the direction of a homage to J W M Turner’s " The Fighting Temeraire" in 1:700th scale. This metamorphosed into a steampunk tugboat towing an airship before sinking into the slough of apathy… I then found a modern(ish) airfield tractor with a trailer to carry a jet engine, although that had disappeared long ago; I never got round to devising an alternative load (probably a huge bomb of some sort). The only resolve which I stuck to was NOT to build a Jeep and trailer, although I was constantly coming across them. I was fortunate not to find a 1:300th scale Rapier battery as to have submitted that would have been an insult to the other participants in the group build who worked long and hard on their entries. The nostalgia for the return of the Bloodhound missile set as an “Airfix Classic” was insufficient to motivate me either.
I hope this GB is repeated some time as it will inspire me to other wild plans which will never come to fruition…
Regards,
M
So many great ideas M.
The number of people that finished is a good indication of the popularity for this type of build. I am toying with the idea of suggesting a similar campaign again later this year. Same rules, just have to get a catchy name and award sorted first ![]()
Well done Tom - welcome to my world!
I like the sound of that Peter. If I can find the correct lowbed trailer to run behind an M246 tractor/wrecker, I’ll be on board.
I hope it will be possible to include “push” as well as “pull”, I have a weird urge to do something utilising these figures as a base…

not pushing a truck but something more interesting… Pack dinosaur? Bogged down UFO? Easter Island Statue?
Cheers,
