Great War 2024

I think I accidentally bought something with that kind of plastic before. I want to say they were pilots for 1/72 planes or something. Building just 1 is fine - looking forward to seeing how you get on…

Thanks, I will see what I can do with this kit and as an afterthought I am going to order a Kit identical to the one whose Instructions you posted for me above. It seems I’ve gotten bitten by the Artillery bug

Seems like the plastic is the same as those ancient Airfix or Esci soldiers. Impossible to glue, and very susceptible to losing paint due to their flexibility…

wondering what would work best glue wise I’m almost tempted to try super glue
I do have some spray primer that should solve the paint adherence issues, I hope.

I hope you’ll succeed. Try not to flex them too much, because CA glue won’t help in that case…

I would try 5 minute epoxy.

So, I’ve started and there’s little to no flash and I ended up using some gorilla glue and it’s working great

Looking good. They don’t look like bad little models.

I’ll jump in with another artillery piece. This one from Emhar. I’ve had it sitting around for a few years, the idea was to use it as a quick background piece with a Mk.IV tank. I know all about it’s simplicity and faults. Might be able to at least make the missing sights from scrap and spares.

There’s only a handful of parts and some toy like figures (which I won’t bother with), so should be able to get it done quickly. That’s the plan anyway.

Some parts cleaned ethos afternoon. Not much flash on these.

I’m in 2 minds to just do this as is straight out of the box considering the time that’s left for the campaign. Might focus on painting and try a three colour splinter cammo.

I’ve reached the hesitate phase…

So on top of the light blue goes the green oil paint streaks. I decided if I did that then masked for the black the oil paint would get pulled off. So I masked and painted the black. Countermasking is proving difficult on the fuselage, but I think I need to do that, or I’ll get the green oils on the black…

Anyone else have other thoughts?

Back to the Whippet.

Got the streaks on the horizontal surfaces. Was worried about handling the fuselage while the horizontal surfaces were already done, so will do the vertical streaks in about a week.

dry time now…

So, I have Completed the Cassion and Field Gun and am calling this completed. tried to weather and go for the worn out used look. I enjoyed this Build and must say 1/72 scale is way smaller than I had thought. I enjoyed the Campaign thanks again.
