My vote for the Gotha, Radek! I have been tempted by this kit and the ICM kits of the same aircraft so many times, but have so far resisted buying them since my stash is growing uncontrollably.
It could be cool to see the kit build up in your usual very high standard!
I’ll be sitting this one out. I’m moving to Texas in a few weeks’ time, so my main focus will be on moving my entire stash of models, materials, supplies, built kits and display cases; along with the rest of my stuff over 900 miles from Arizona. WIsh me luck, boys. I might lose a few along the way, but i still have plenty of glue.
Hotm2025 entry finished, so time to present my “entry” kit for HOTM2026.
As promised it will be Gotha Go 244B-1 German transport plane, kit from IBG Models in 1:72nd scale. I also bought 3D printed pilots seats and wheels and plan to use. I’m going to help myself also with masks set also from IBG.
Here’s a kit in unspoiled condition… lot’s of parts there…
First few steps completed. Cockpit, main floor, engine nacelles + wings glued all together.
Unfortunately I missed the fact that 3d cockpit set includes 2 seats and trim wheel section and glued original kit’s trim wheel. I’ll try to remove it, but if it’s too hard I’ll leave it as is… It’s tight 1/72 scale stuff afterall
First 3D printed parts installed - pilot’s and co-pilot’s seats. I had to detach leftside panel, because pilot’s seat wouldn’t fit in.
The parts are extremely thin and brittle, so there were some losses… both seats lost 1 leg each and the trimming wheel part lost some tiny gauges - I had to replace them with kit’s parts.
I have question - maybe someone is familiar with this - instruction from IBG calls for RLM23 (Red) for all all impregnated fabric parts - so basically all interior (except metal/wood parts that should get RLM02). To me it looks like RLM23 is close to red primer colour for tanks used by Germans during war.
So my concerns are:
should this really be RLM23 for interiors and not RLM02 everywhere?
