Idf 78

Group Build Title: IDF 78

Group Build Leader(s): @michaelsatin

Group Build Description: Modeling the IDF from 1948 (or before) to today

Event Details: (Remember to click “Going” if you want to join the build!)

Continuing with the yearly IDF campaign. This campaign is open to modeling all IDF (and Haganah, predecessor to the IDF) related subjects past and present. The campaign will run from 1 June 2026 through 31 May, 2027.

Please note: this is a politics free zone, like the rest of KitMaker forums. This campaign is about modelling the IDF, not about discussing the morality of its operations. I will be keeping a close eye on this thread, and will deal with anything I feel violates this policy.

Completion Award:

A Note about Awards: In order for people participating and finishing their projects to receive a badge on their forum profile, they will need to provide their account username to the group build leader by the completion date of the build. The leader will then provide this list to the site admin who will bulk award the badges to those users who have finished the group build. If you don’t provide your username or finish the project on the timetable the leader has setup you will not be able to receive an award.

Can we roll over from IDF 77 or is this fresh starts only?

I’m in with the Tamiya M-51.

Never made it to IDF77, so might as well give it another shot, still with an M151 Shmira or Merkava.

That’s kind of a tough one. I’d like to know what the other participants think. Should we allow rollovers from IDF 77? Lord knows I have a couple!

I would allow it.

I allow it for the sci-fi and alternative history campaigns. I think it would be a good idea. Typically it is not more than a few - and in any case a build can only count in one campaign by definition, so there is no double dipping.

I’ve had an idea floating around in my head ever since I saw this photo:

So I gradually found the different kits I needed to make it:

I allow it in the ongoing Sherman campaigns too, so I guess there’s really no reason not to allow it here. Yes, rollovers from previous IDF campaigns are allowed.

Thank you. Rollover campaigns work much better for me that the one shot variety.

I am going to get this Zelda II Classical started for this campaign using the AFV Club IDF M113A1 kit as a base and converting it into an A2! Using the 3D printed parts from the Panzer files on cults (many thanks Panzer!), the DEF Models IDF M113 APC Basic PE Detail Up Set and what little references I have I intend to make the Zelda 2 Classical and set it into a Golan Hieghts scene.

Fingers crossed all goes well as my track record on the last two campaigns is not good?

Cheers,

Richard Howden.
