IDF Diorama

Thank you very much for the compliment!

That added gear will certainly fit the scenario, good idea!

And for those who are interested in the Israeli Arab wars, there is a lot of video footage to find on the Israeli side, but I found 2 videos on the Egyptian side. Not about the 1967 war, but on the 1973 war, Granted, it is more propaganda then anything else, but it does give some nice views of Egyptian material.
Egyptian ‘doumentary’ after the 1973 war with Sadat’s speech
something that looks like an Egyptian short film about the first day of the 1973 war

EDIT:
I found the original complete film of which that short film stems:
this is the original film about the Egpytian here who destroyed the Bar Lev line in hours… as the Egyptian comment on this movie calls it…

Awesome, thx for the links. Your work has inspired me to go back and read “Elusive Victory” by Trevor Dupuy. It gives a complete rundown from the start of the new nation of Israel and all the battles that took place from all angles. It’s a hefty thick book too.

Well, this way we inspire eachother, because I didn’t know about that book, will look it up, thanks!

Bert this is a fantastic thread and I bow to your skills, simply superb vehicles. All I’d beg is that the figures have their glossy uniforms fixed (images 33 – 37), they just need a flat/matt varnish. :tumbler_glass:

Thank you very much for you compliments, and you are right about the glossy uniforms, I noticed them when I posted those pictures, have already given them a matt coat. But thanks anyway for mentioning it, if I hadn’t noticed it, your remark would have been a great help! :+1: And it is that kind of help that we all need to improve our skills :+1:

The new vehicle and its crew is coming along nicely, and I can still choose to do this one with or without the tarpaulin…

@bwilt i like your uniform color, is that a forest green?

Thanks, it is Tamiya olive green, and then touched up with a darkened and lightened version of it, and a wash of Abteilung 502 Faded Green.

Dusted this one up, covered it with sand…

the added Uzi’s are from Dolp…

than started on the next, which came with something extra, bot that wasn’t for this kit so will have to try and see what I can use…

Needs more work than expected, cut of half the cabin floor to get everything to fit…

more next time…

Thanks, much appreciated!

This is a lot more work than I enticipated… also caught Covid so doing some work in between being sick …
had to cut a good bit of the cabin, add some plastic to the nose because otherwise the doors wouldn’t fit…

And tried to spice up the engine and engine compartment…

So, then putting all together, to see how it looks, added the extra jerrycans…

Had to get a crew… so put limbs and torso’s together from different donors…

And then there is offcourse the load bed… can’t leave that empty…

And I still had the cover of the Mule… it is to short so had to lengthen it a bit…

And I know, this cover has only 3 supports where as this truck should have more… but hey… I am not that fussy…
Might raise the cover a good bit so you an still see the stowage underneath…
this is where I am now… fixing some stuff and than paint…

More nice stuff already! Great job !!
