IDF Diorama

@bwilt no worries, I’m beginning to get my things together to build my idf halftrack and paratrooper in the new year.

Building and painting has been slow these last few months, but still … nearly finished this one, just an antenna and weapons and slings te add…

Yeah lol

Wow, massive work my friend! Keep up the good work. I am just worried about the size. Once it’s finished you have to keep it forever:)

Thanks, and yes, I know what you mean, so it’s a good thing I live by myself in a house with 5 bedrooms… lots of storage… though one of those rooms is currently still filled with unbuild kits…
Mind you, for me it isn’t the displaying part but the building and painting part that I like…

Nice to hear Bert! Then it’s just to go all in:)

I notice it has been quite a while since I posted anything here… haven’t given up on this one, just did some other things in between… So time for an update…

Started on the last couple of vehicles for this dio, a nice Tamiya M3 and a less nice Zvezda M3… I know these were probably not in service anymore by 1967, but what if …
So I decided to do the Tamiya one regular,
So, the Tamiya M3 Scout car, added some stuff as usual…

And has some color, base is AK RC Early IDF Sand…

And tuse the Zvezda for trying to get something looking like this:
04 idea (00)

And my attempt resulted in this… used left over side panels of those M3 halftracks for the roof…

And as in my diorama this is a survivor from 1948, it will be very worn and weathered… just because I like to do that…

used the hairspray method for the first time, probably overdid it a bit…
Got these decals for it

Also decided to add a BRDM2 in AK RC Egyptian Desert Sand to the diorama…

Look at the difference between the IDF and Egyptian sand color…

And than came across some pictures of it in a nice Egyptian camouflage scheme… so added some color to it…

And finally some figures, 2 of the crew members for the Tamiya version, and some figures that will be placed somewhere between the BRDM and the M3’s…

That’s it for now…
