Revell’s latest boxing of their old 1/32 UH-1D/H includes the actual markings for Crandall’s “Ancient Serpent 6”. For some reason, they were simplified in the movie.
Revell’s decals (not mine and disregard the guns and ammo as they are incorrect).

@Spitfire Would you like me to harass you from half way during the build, to make sure you finish?
That is a nice looking bird. I’ll look forward to seeing it (hopefully) done.
@petbat that’s not a bad idea lol
Goal is to do it wheels up, in flight, and build a stand to show it going vertical during the “fight’s on!” scene in the movie.
Just need to figure out how to get the clear acrylic stand and then mount it in the jet nozzles.
Edit: Like this…
Should be a good one. Don’t see many inflight displays done.
The Top Gun F-18 will a good counter to the Hot Shots Gnat I’m planning on building.
Since I asked about busts, I think I will attempt this one from Mitches Military Models and the movie 300.
Nice. Taking up the figure painting challenge - well done.
Would the '58 Plymouth Christine car kit qualify in this group build? I’m asking because it was actually what is was suppose to be in the movie, as far as I know.
A real vehicle used in a movie. As long as it is painted as it is in the movie it is perfect. Welcome aboard.
That film scared the *#@! out of me when I was a kid!
Not seen it in years, I might have to keep an eye out for it.
Good kit to choose, I hadn’t thought of looking at cars. If I get my Gnat done quick, I might dig out one of the Blade Runner cars I keep meaning to build.
As long as it is one of the cars based on a real vehicle, like some in Blade Runner 2049, that would fit the theme.
I love the way you guys are thinking outside the box a little here. The variety is going to be great.
They were all built on VW Beetle chassis’s. Some were fully drivable and a couple were stripped down so they could be lifted by the cranes to simulate take-off. I want to concentrate on the Gnat though, so this was just a fleeting idea. I’ve been looking for an excuse to actually build one of them for ages.
yeah, me too.
If you don’t end up with enough time to build one of the Blade Runner cars for this GB, pull one of them out of your stash and start it when you can. They are fun builds. I finished the Blade Runner Police Car earlier this year and really liked how it turned out.
Very nice Mike. A very cool looking vehicle and a very nicely laid out setting.
That’s a fantastic build! Thanks for sharing.
I’ve got two of those. One to build as the cop the other as Deckard’s with the Paragrafix etch set. Same kit just different decals. I missed the Deckard release, so didn’t want to miss another chance. I did spend a LONG time trying to get screen grabs from the Blu-ray and scouring the internet for good shots of Deckard’s to get the colour right. But that’s a discussion for another place I think.
I’ve also got the Police Spinner. Needs a bit of work to improve the interior I think. Cozmic Scale Models has a double figure set of Deckard and Gaff to sit inside it and I’m very tempted to grab them.
Nice background set. Please talk about this more
Thanks! You are right about the challenge of getting the color of Deckard’s car correct. I did same research on it myself before I started the Police Car and I recall it may even have been two toned in color. Thanks for the tip on the Cozmic Scale Models figures!
