What’s your thoughts on Harder-Steenbeck’s newest state of the art airbrush?
What - a nozzle big enough to see with the naked eye? It’ll never catch on! Where’s the after-sales market for replacement nozzles to feed the carpet monster?
Seriously, as a Krome user I feel like an EOD tech every time I dismantle it to clean it for fear of losing the microscopic nozzle. This H&S looks like a fine beast, regardless of the use of titanium. My only concerns are a) the removable paint cup causing a leak-point, and b) the likely price…
Do I need to grow a beard or moustache to use it?
…don’t forget get the purple finger nail polish plus a rainbow mohawk…
Nozzle looks reasonable size. The one prong tip guard should allow for an easy squeeze to clear dry paint off the tip.
Despite all the hype, my HS 1st Gen Evolution is a finicky POS. Horrible trigger, actually worse than a cheap $27 Chinese junk AB from Harbor Freight. It also failed to perform as well as my customized Paasche VL, designed a ~100 years ago.
My Iwata Micron B custom has ran flawless for ~30 years. Likewise, the VL.
It’s hard to step up and buy the new HS Titanium AB having absolutely zero confidence in Harder-Steenbeck based on prior experience with their 1st Gen Evolution.
Funny, I was looking at these a few days ago on their website. I’m a rookie to airbrushes, however sometime down the road I would want to upgrade.
$320 CAD for one.
His comments about the long needle and stability reminded me of the Aztek 470 plastic abomination that I bought, got disgusted with, and sold.
It had a needle that was less than half an inch long and pointed in a new and totally unpredictable direction each time I pulled the trigger back. Dear Lord how I hated that thing, someone thought it was the bees knees and happily bought it AFTER reading my rant about it.
The Ass-Tech was also too short for my hands …
It did come in a nice wooden box though …
Christ!
I’m going to end up drinking the Harder-Steenbeck Kool-Aid again…
Short front end design
1mm to 5mm stand off painting with thin lines
1.2 cc small color cup (YES!!! AAA+++)
Trick trigger that can function as a single action without a limiter
Weights to adjust feel of the AB in your hand
Did HS listen to everything users have whined about hating about their products?
I would recommend the Master Tool airbrushes you can get at Amazon. There is a few to choose from with different options all the high end abs have. Tests those out to see if you like them before spending the money on the high end AB. Things like the MAC value don’t “work” for me has I am not refined enough to appreciate and use it, others can excel with it.
Man this has turned into like getting a new car. Are you really ready to trade in your old one for all the bells and whistles and the money? Titanium sounds wonderful but I get 10 - 15 years out of my needles / nozzles and right now I’m airbrushed out. I have 7, from .2mm to .5mm. 3 Iwatas (my favorites) 2 Grex, 1 Harder & Steenbeck, and a Neogeo. I could live with just the 3 Iwatas .2mm to .5mm to fill all my airbrushing needs for the rest of my modeling career. This airbrush sounds like a real winner but I don’t need it in my stable.
That’s a great point Matt! Exactly like a new car wanted but definitely not needed.
I’m caught it’s New & Shiney!!!
Between the Iwata Micron B, Paasche F, H, V, VL, VJR, H/S Evolution, Neogeo, Gocheer (nail salon AB) & Harbor Freight Avanti my AB needs are covered. The staples out of that mix are the H & VL at home and Gocheer (LOL, it’s better than expected) on the road. Rarely does Micron B see action to do something the VL or VJR can’t do.
how did you get your different sized nozzles Matt? they would need new needles as well right, would those come with the nozzle? I think a .5mm came with my Eclipse but I’d like to get a finer spray line. Love my Iwata.

Hi Terry,
You are correct that a different size nozzle needs the corresponding size needle. They are sold separately but all you have to do is match up the numbers. I have 3 Iwatas, an HP-B+ with .2mm, an HP-C+ with .35mm, and a Revolution CR with .5mm. I don’t swap out needles and nozzles, I just pick the brush I need.
Give it to me. I’ll have that thing barfing, splattering, spitting, and sputtering like every other airbrush inside 30 seconds. (I think it took me 15 seconds to clog the Master’s Touch airbrush from eBay.)
Gordon Ramsey doing side gigs now?
My over forty year old Paasche still doing fine. When/if it craps out I’ll think about a replacement.
My thoughts on titanium:
“I’m an aesthetic person also.” ???
He is not Khan who calls himself Khan. Afghan proverb.
No, but judging by the guy in the green apron you do need to lose your trousers!
Yeah …
I was thinking that the little laptop screen was strategically positioned just in case the camera should happen to drop a few inches too low …
Every time the camera moved I was afraid of getting the “big reveal”…
I can sympathise with that fear …
on the other hand …
wouldn’t it have been sad if the big reveal had turned out to be a tiny reveal?
Much better video shows the new engineering in detail and zero half naked man w/laptop.
Better mouse trap?
Titanium is great especially if you are hard on your airbrushes. If I were without an airbrush (I have 7) I would definitely look at this one to buy. Harder & Steenbeck are excellent (I have one).
