Apparently the new Australian M1A2 SEP v3 are being delivered early this year, replacing the M1A1 AIM fleet.

Any pics of them?

This is a picture from the RFM instruction on the SEP V3. The color recommendation is C121: I presume it is Mr. Color paints since they have a “Brown Violet” labeled C121. (Sorry for the bad picture)

Here’s the comparisson chart from Cybermodeler. Hope that helps in finding an alternative color.
Colors are…

AMMO by Mig, Vallejo, Gunze Sangyo, Hataka, Lifecolor, Mission Models, Mr. Paint, Revell, Tamiya, Testors and Xtra Color.

Didn’t realise the RFM kit was out yet.

Any chance of a pic of that profile more square on?

Another detail of the V3, the lifting brackets are much thicker at the rear of the tank, notice inboard of the taillight housing, above the engine door hinges, pics of a V3 compared to a non V3

I notice that there seems to be some variation on the camo pattern on the gun tube.

I did a cross reference with AK real colors C121 brown violet is RLM81 version 1 for AK real colors thats
RC323 tamiya equivalent to that would be XF-51
and C519 is NATO Green AK RC080 Tamiya XF-67

The tow point has also been beefed up. Lots of thicker fittings & fixtures.

Here is a great video from “Forces News” (British Defense news, I believe) on the M1A2SEPv3. It shows the two-tone camouflage quite well, which from a distance doesn’t appear at all.

As you can see from the video, the 120mm gun barrel is not two-tone but one solid color.

Here’s a pic I took today at Ft. Stewart.

Some sprue photos of the new RFM SEP V3 kit (#5104). Obviously, it’s a mix of the old and new sprues.

Sprue “D” is mostly old:

Here are the new turret parts:

Compare the new vs. old turret part from RFM SEP V2:

Sprue W is new with Trophy system and the new CROWS.

The newer heavy duty tow cable is included:

Also new side rails for the turret:

New M153A2E1 LP-CROWS parts and new bigger tow rings:

Trophy parts, etc.:

New X sprue:

Still included are Sprues Q and V from USMC M1A1 FEP Abrams:

Carrying over S sprue from SEP V2:

PE is new:

The decal is somewhat basic:

The clear parts are recycled from its previous offering:

The same sprues for the wheels, lower hull, accessories, and tracks as provided in the SEP V2 kit.

The kit includes one 3D printed part, which was obliterated - broken into 6 pieces during shipping.
Anyone know what it’s supposed to be? I couldn’t find it in the instructions… :frowning:
